Huge congratulations to our very own Henry Heta — officially recognised as a 2026 Bunnings Coaching Legend.

Henry’s impact goes far beyond the court. He builds confident, disciplined, resilient athletes through aroha, consistency and high‑performance standards that never waver. His leadership at Te Tai Sports Academy and Waipū Black has lifted our whole community, strengthened whanaungatanga and created pathways for rangatahi to thrive.

🌟 Whakamihia – Introducing Our High Performance Coach - Genesis Heta 🌟

Te Tai Elite Sports Academy proudly introduces Genesis Heta a shining example of Māori excellence in high‑performance netball.

At just 24 years old, Genesis brings an impressive playing career shaped by elite competition, discipline, and deep commitment to her craft. She has represented across multiple levels, including:

- Auckland Representative
- Manurewa Representative
- New Zealand Indoor Representative
- Auckland Māori Premier Player
- New Zealand Secondary School Māori Representative
- Auckland University Jakals – Premier Grade (Auckland)

Genesis’s experience across these pathways gives her a unique understanding of what it takes to compete and succeed at the highest levels of the game. Her strengths lie in technical skill ex*****on, game awareness and the ability to translate high‑performance concepts into clear, relatable coaching for Rangatahi.

As a coach, Genesis brings calm leadership, strong communication and a natural ability to connect with young athletes. She is passionate about uplifting Māori athletes, building confidence and creating training environments where players feel supported, challenged and proud of who they are.

Genesis embodies the values of **mana, mahi, and whanaungatanga** and her presence strengthens the kaupapa of Te Tai Elite Sports Academy.

She is committed to helping our athletes grow not only as players, but as confident, resilient young athletes ready to thrive on and off the court.

🌟 Whakamihia – Introducing Our Director & Lead Coach 🌟

Te Tai Elite Sports Academy is proud to introduce Henry Heta, our Director and Lead Coach.

Henry brings over 30 years of experience playing representative sport, alongside 10 years of coaching across Touch, Tag, Netball, and Rugby League. His depth of experience is complemented by strong knowledge in high‑performance training, specialising in athlete development, physical conditioning, and long‑term performance pathways.

With a background in Personal Training and Bodybuilding, Henry has an in‑depth understanding of strength, conditioning, injury prevention, and performance optimisation. This allows him to deliver training programmes that are both evidence‑based and athlete‑centred, supporting individuals to reach their full potential — physically, mentally, and culturally.

Henry is passionate about developing disciplined, resilient athletes while upholding strong values of mana, whakapono, and whanaungatanga. He believes high performance is built not only through physical preparation, but through character, consistency, and connection.

Under Henry’s leadership, Te Tai Elite Sports Academy is committed to excellence, growth, and creating opportunities for our rangatahi to thrive through sport.

The tide is shifting in Bream Bay.

For years, our community has produced incredible talent — athletes with heart, discipline, and raw potential. But too often, they’ve had to leave home to chase high‑performance opportunities. Too often, their pathways depended on access, travel, or luck.

So we built something new.
Something ours.
Something grounded in our whenua, our moana, and our people.

Te Tai Elite Sports Academy is officially launching in the Bream Bay rohe — a high‑performance training academy designed to develop strong athletes, confident leaders, and grounded young people.

Te Tai means the tide: movement, rhythm, strength, and continual progression. Our name honours the moana of Bream Bay — its power, its energy, and its constant forward motion. That same energy drives our kaupapa.

At Te Tai, we train the whole athlete:
- Strong in body
- Confident in mind
- Grounded in culture
- Connected to community

We blend elite sport science with Māori values like whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, rangatiratanga, and hauora — creating an environment where excellence and identity move together.
