💙⚽ Match Report | Waiariki Women vs Waipuna Women ⚽💙

While the scoreboard showed a 2-1 result in favour of Waipuna, there were plenty of positives to take away from today’s performance by our Waiariki Women.

The team showed great determination, resilience, and commitment from the first whistle to the last. Every player put in a huge shift, working hard for each other and never giving up, even when faced with challenges throughout the match.

Our wahine created some excellent opportunities, moved the ball well, and showed the fighting spirit that continues to define this team. The effort, attitude, and teamwork on display were something to be proud of.

A special shout-out to our goal scorer- Anneliese and to every player who left everything on the field today. Results don’t always reflect the heart and effort shown, and today’s match was another step forward in our journey together.

Thank you to our amazing supporters who braved the conditions and cheered us on from the sidelines. Your encouragement means the world to our players.

Heads up, ladies — we regroup, learn, and come back stronger next week. The future is bright for this talented Waiariki squad! 💙⚽

⚽️ Waiariki FC Over 35s vs Ngongotahā AFC Over 35s ⚽️

A great afternoon of football in our local derby as Waiariki FC Over 35s took on Ngongotahā AFC at home, with the visitors edging out a closely contested match 2-1.

While the result didn’t fall our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. The boys showed tremendous commitment, teamwork, and determination throughout the full 90 minutes, creating opportunities and battling hard until the final whistle.

Local derbies are always fiercely contested, and today’s match was no different. Our squad displayed great character, never giving up and continuing to push forward in search of an equaliser.

A huge thank you to our supporters who came out to cheer us on. Your encouragement from the sidelines makes a massive difference and is greatly appreciated by the team.

We’ll take the lessons from today, keep building, and come back stronger next week. Heads up, lads — plenty of football still to be played this season! 💙⚽
