Gold Rush Luge Alpine slide in the Maniototo Adventure Park alongside curling, ice skating & ice luge

The Gold Rush Luge will open to the public on Saturday 23 September and operate during weekends, school holidays and by appointment. The Gold Rush Luge is one of the attractions making up the Maniototo Adventure Park and is located in Ernslaw One's Naseby forest. The name Gold Rush Luge links to it Naseby's past, excitement, adventure & adrenaline, and luging (it sits alongside Naseby's Ice Luge t

rack). The Gold Rush Luge is the former Coronet Peak Cresta Run and was donated to the Naseby community by Erna & the late Tonnie Spijkerbosch and David & Jennie Proctor. The Gold Rush Luge was reconstructed in Naseby by volunteers with financial support from the donors, Otago Community Trust, Give-a-Little crowd funding, Alexander McMillan Trust, Lotteries, Lions Club of Maniototo, Naseby Vision, Foodstuffs (South Island) Community Trust (Four Square), Community Trust of Maniototo, Maniototo Trust Fund and Rural Communities Trust.

Hello to all the Gold Rush Luge page fans and followers.

This page was set up during the development stage of the Gold Rush Luge, which we are delighted to say has now enjoyed a successful 5+ weeks of operations and has added a high-quality attraction to our Adventure Park. The feedback from riders of all ages has been extremely positive. The smiles and sound effects tell us we have a great addition to the Park and that the visionaries and generous benefactors have contributed a valuable asset in bringing back to life this piece of New Zealand's adventure heritage.

The Maniototo Adventure Park is the entity that has resulted from the merger of three sperate entities that operated on our Naseby site - the Ice Luge and Outdoor Ice-Skating Rink, the Indoor Curling Rink and now the Gold Rush Luge as well.

All of our communication will now be from the Maniototo Adventure Park which has a Facebook and Instagram page (links below). We would love you to follow/like these pages now to stay up to date with what's happening here and also to communicate back to us with any questions, ideas or just to tell us that you like or love what we do.

We will ensure a range of both entertaining and informative content that is relevant to users of the Maniototo Adventure Park as we develop and grow the Park for the benefit of our great wee town and the region.

Many thanks to the people that have come along the last few days to experience our Gold Rush Luge. It was great to see everyone loving it and wanting more. The trial has enabled us to fine tune how we staff and operate the Gold Rush, so we're fully ready to go before summer. We're going to cease the trial operations now for a while. Apologies for those that had booked for today and for next week. Stay tuned for updates.
