Club History & info:
Spiralz Rhythmics of Hamilton was incorporated in 2001. We have approximately 50 members at our club ranging from recreational gymnasts through to Level 10 gymnasts. Our gymnasts are
able to trial to represent Waikato at the National Gymnastics Championships which is held annually for gymnasts throughout New Zealand. Spiralz Rhythmics of Hamilton is the only Rhythmic Gymnastics club in the Waikato. We train at the Te Rapa Sports Drome Church Road, Te Rapa in Hamilton on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. About Rhythmic gymnastics:
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that is a combination of dance and gymnastics with the use of apparatus such as ribbon, ball, clubs, hoop and rope performed in time to music. The sport promotes coordination and flexibility as well as developing body strength. It also encourages pride and confidence in the girls as they master their routines and perform individually at competitions from May to September. Join us:
We welcome new gymnasts to our club and can take recreational beginners (ie non-competing gymnasts) from 5 years of age at any time throughout the year. For those gymnasts who are ready to compete, we take new gymnasts in Term 4 and Term 1 of the school year. This is the time when gymnasts move up to a new level and is when new skills and routines are being learnt for the next competition season. If you wish to come along to see what it is like, send us a message - the first session is free!
