Another season done and dusted and we celebrated lots of successes at prizegiving on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone for the fab potluck dishes brought along to fill the tables. We dined like kings on King's Birthday weekend.
Congrats to Mark Christie and Pam Mulford for winning Club players of the year and to John Hungerford for winning the Club Person of the Year for his 'Mr Fixitness' around the club.
Along with Club Day Trophies, Women's Aggregates, Club champs and Centre awards we celebrated our best lady bowler - Pam Mulford, who will now have her portrait on the Wall of Fame.
Our Centenary year is turning into a memorable one.

Another fantastic weekend for the club. The junior pairs championship was completed on Sunday in perfect conditions. All the games were hotly contested with some very close results. Well done to everyone who played and conf=gratulatins to the eventual winners - David Thomson and Alan Richards who beat Euan Thomson and Stephen Prosser and Yvonne Thomson and Judy Cosgriff who beat Jenny Mather and Shirley Coey.
There was some great bowling from all the players and well done to the rest of the participants - Karen Bowden, Debra Angus, Helen Henkes and Jocelyn Jackson. Plus Don Mather, Graeme Sissons, Bruce and Matt Walmsley.
Thank you also to John Hungerford for fixing the trolley so we could get the equipment out on the green.
Shout out to all the members who came down to watch the games.

Plimmerton had its most successful campaign ever in the Champ of Champs this weekend. 4 teams made the finals and 2 came away with Centre titles. Many thanks to Blake Signal and Bowls Wellington for great organisation and to the umpires who gave up their time to keep the games moving along.
Congratulations to Annie Baker and Chris Nolan for making the finals of the Open women's pairs and who lost by one point to the eventual winners, Angela and Lily Signal from Stokes Valley. Pam Mulford had a real battle to eventual singles winner Claire Kendra from Silverstream.
However Mark Christie and Judy McAuley won their the Mixed Pairs final vs Kathy Cross and Ian Burt from Naenae gaining their first Centre title. Pam Mulford, Cath Thoamson and Phillipa Christie won the women's Triples title v Alieta Vulu, Pat Dixon and Anne Robinson from Naenae in a thrillingly tight game.
Huge thanks to the many Plimmerton and Whitby Bowling Club - Porirua NZ folk who came to cheer us on. It was great to have lots of support from the sideline.

The Wellington Centre Triples tournament concluded on Monday after a tumultuous weekend of rain, wind and floods. There were 4 Plimmerton teams playing. One of the men's teams, Jason Wright, Dudley Enoka and Steve Baker, made it to the semi-finals.
The women's team of Pam Mulford, Cath Thomson and Phillipa Christie won the women's Triples Trophy. Congratulations everyone on some great games. We're proud of the number of teams from our club that competed.

Congrats to the Wellington team which won the Janet Lynch Trophy on Wednesday in a narrow win over Hutt Valley. Plimmerton women made up a good contingent although sadly a couple had to pull out at the last minute due to injuries and ill health. Well done to Pam Mulford, Val Hadfield, Cath Thomson, Helen Vardey, Bronwyn Mackenzie, Janice Emeny and Phillipa Christie for playing in the winning teams.
