Ridge Runners Sled Dog Racing Club (Ridge Runners) is a sled dog club based in the North Island of New Zealand. Our members are mostly from the lower North Island and we welcome anyone who is interested in the sport to join us. We are a family orientated club that hosts sled dog racing events as well as bikejoring and canicross competitions. The club is committed to promoting sled dog sports acros

s New Zealand while maintaining a strong focus on animal welfare and sportsmanship. All medium to large breeds of dogs are capable of competing in this sport and we have members with breeds ranging from the nordic breeds of the Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky to a Brittany Spaniel x and Dalmation x. Sled dog sports (including canicross and bikejoring) are perfect sports for dogs that love to run, they provide them with an outlet for their energy, helps to keep them fit and in good body condition as well as its a lot of fun for the dog and the athlete. We welcome anyone to come to an event, fun day or training run to see the dogs in action and to have a go (please check out the calendar for upcoming events).

The IFSS Global Worldcup results have just been released - and huge congratulations to Caitlin, Marc, and Eric for placing on the podium again - and putting New Zealand on the map! What a huge effort and dedication 🥰 Also, all the dogs deserve and extra cuddle and a big steak :-D

SUNDAY Club training is ON 🥰 Temps will be a bit on the warm side, but the forest generally holds temperature really well, so we all should be able to get some safe runs in with the dogs. :-)
