🏆 2026 FOBs Club Person of the Year Rodney Cornor-Tutahione (RODDS) 👏

This year we proudly recognise Rodney Cornor-Tutahione – better known to everyone as RODDS, as our 2026 FOBs Club Person of the Year.

Rodds represents everything that makes our club special. His generosity towards others and the club never goes unnoticed. Whether it’s giving his time, supporting players, or simply being there when it counts, Rodds always puts the club and the people in it first.

Working alongside Vili with the XCALIBUR Mens, Rodds has shown incredible leadership — often the quiet, behind-the-scenes kind that truly holds a team together. His guidance, support, and steady presence have played a big part in shaping the culture and spirit of the team.

You’ll see Rodds at every training and every game, always encouraging, always backing the boys, and always bringing positive energy. He leads by example and reminds us what club pride really looks like.

Rodds may not share the same blood as those who founded and manage the club, but his love and commitment to it is just as strong — and that’s something you can’t buy.

For his dedication, humility, and unwavering support of the club and its people, Rodds is a truly deserving recipient of the 2026 FOBs Club Person of the Year award.

2026 FOBs INTER-CLUB COMPETITION done and dusted! Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us to celebrate another year in the Blue & Yellow 💛💙

The day started after the opening prayer 🙏 with sprint races with our younger ones up to our senior players , followed by - what felt like 50 games of touch 😮‍💨🙊 team awards, club awards and a massive kai for everyone. So much laughter , love and good banter out on the field today.

We ended the day with a big group photo (pictured) and the same way we started with a closing prayer ✨️

Our last training was filled with so much noise tonight - beautiful noise. There was laughing and joking , but most importantly we were having fun.

We wouldn't be able to field teams if it weren't for the players that continue to come back every season - The club thanks each and every one of you!

Player Profile #8 Jan McLeod ...

I have played touch for a very long time (even when it was 7aside and dummy half could score😂) and have been a part of almost every FOBs team since I joined the club 15 years ago. I am a māmā of 5 and the oldest 4 have all played touch since they were 3-4 years old. I think next year I will be back with the U6s as my baby will be starting his touch journey!

What I love most about FOBs is that anyone can come along to trainings or games and is made to feel welcomed, valued and part of the whānau. We learn lots from our papa T and he is the one of the best coaches and players I have had the privilege of playing alongside, and I love that all his kids and mokos are there alongside him every week. It’s truly a whānau-based club and I am proud to play for FOBs.

Personal achievements:
•Level 1 Coach
•Level 1 National Referee
•Manawatū Representative in 30W, 35W and 40W
•Coach/manage representative teams for •Manawatū (U10, U12, U14 and U16 teams) for the last 10 years.
•Played at Brooklyn Battle almost every year since the tournament began (and reffed a few times too).
•I am also TIC Touch at St Peter’s College and coach up to 7 teams playing in the HWC JYT and SS Modules.

We are so very lucky to have Jan in our club! 🎉
