It has been a season of significant growth for our club. We welcomed 12 new players this year, bringing our total to 24 juniors. Many of these emerging players are already showing great promise in our top inter-club teams and 6 of the 9 open Club Champion titles featuring Juniors. Thanks to our dedicated coaches and development sessions. The future of the club looks bright with some excellent bowls being played.
A major highlight was our victory in the Junior Men's Fours Kaituna Plate, won by John Holmes (s), Dean Matheson, Vic Yarker, and Paul Luxmore. The competition was fierce, and we look forward to seeing these players transition into the Open Grade.
Notable individual and team achievements include: (CoC = Champion of Champion)
- Rex Calder: Runner-up, CoC Open Men’s Singles.
- John Holmes: Quarterfinalist, Bowls Dunedin Open Men’s Singles.
- Diane Dore: Quarterfinalist, CoC Veteran Women’s Singles.
- Lindsay Barringer: Quarterfinalist, CoC Veteran Men’s Singles.
- Vic Yarker: Semi-finalist, Year 1-5 men Super Singles.
- Junior Bowls 3Fives: Winners the Next 8 knockout stage Outram 1 (the "Croissants") Vic & Josh Yarker, Ollie Ferguson (Gerry Mumm semi & final) + a couple others
Club Activities and Community
Our Jubilee was a success, featuring a Fours Tournament (Winners Regan Larkin, Dean Matheson, Cody Cape and John Holmes) and dinner that brought past and present members together. Twilight bowls also performed well, with Peter Hannah and Kevin Brady winning the Tossers Pairs Tournament in St Clair. Additionally, we enjoyed successful bingo nights and winter games evenings, and we continue to host the Rodeo club for their monthly meetings. In the Clarence Mitchell Tankard, the Outram Fire Brigade won the community section, while Club Members Mosgiel took out the club section.
Greens and Facilities
Our green continues to receive high praise; Bowls NZ inspectors even commented that they wished they could "roll it up and take it with them." Special thanks to Neville, Mick, and their helpers for their hard work.
We have also completed several facility upgrades and repairs:
- Replaced the car park fence and reinstated the flagpole.
- Removed the corroded green light poles for safety.
- Installed a new, more efficient drinks fridge and repaired the surrounding flooring.
- Purchased a new sprayer for the greens.

Thank you to everyone who made this season a success.
