📍 Attention Ōmokoroa households: keen to future-proof your home and boost your power resilience?
The Omokoroa Pavilion is really excited to be hosting the “A Simple Shift” Community Roadshow here on the 4th of July.
Run by Powerco and EECA, this 3-year energy flexibility trial is looking at how a few small changes in the way we use power can make energy more affordable. Currently, this trial is exclusive to 500 Ōmokoroa residents - other communities don’t currently get access to this.
If you’ve been thinking about home batteries, solar, or just using electricity a bit smarter, this is a great chance to explore what’s possible. And even if you don’t have solar, a home battery can still make a difference - you can store cheaper grid power overnight and use it during the daytime peak.
To help locals actually take action, the project includes incentives of up to $4,000 for compliant devices. Upgrading your home energy setup is still an investment (especially if you’re looking at pairing a battery with a new, unsubsidised solar system), but this EECA support is there to make smart tech - like batteries, smart hot water, and home energy management systems - a lot more achievable for our community.
