With the new season starting tomorrow the shed and equipment need a spring clean 🧹🧽 and sort out 🔧🪛.
The LWWST committee would greatly appreciate more support in the upkeep of this great facility. Many hands make light work.

A huge THANKS to Meridian Energy for supporting the Lower Waitaki Water Sports Park and our community. 🛶⛵🙏🏼
Through their Power Up Community Fund the pond was able to purchase new life jackets in a range of sizes to keep our users safe on the water. 🌊😁
Papakaio School took them out for a test run on Friday! 👍🏼

🔴PSA TO POND USERS🔴

The current water supply to the ponds bathroom facilities is unusable. The toilet is still available for use but please use a bucket with water from the pond to flush the toilet and for hand washing.

We are working to resolve the issue. Apologies for the inconvenience.

POND BOOKINGS:
There are a few group bookings coming up over the next 6 weeks. During these times the pond will be closed for other key holders. As follows:
Friday 16th Feb evening
Friday 23rd Feb afternoon
Friday 1st March afternoon
Friday 8th March evening
Friday 15th March afternoon

If you would like to make a group booking, email us at [email protected] or send us a private message.

The pond is currently open to individuals, however the safety boat is available for group bookings only.

⚠️ATTENTION ALL POND USERS⚠️

The pond is CLOSED until further notice.

Due to some members of our Oamaru and wider community not respecting our resources and equipment, the pond will be closed for personal use until said otherwise.

Group bookings can still be made, we will come down and meet you to give you access to the shed and outboard for this.

We don't like to do this but due to the door being broken multiple times over the last couple of months we have no choice.

📢ATTENTION POND USERS📢

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the LWWST Comittee is getting rather frustrated with the lack of care being taken when using the ponds facilities. There have been too many incidents recently where doors/gates have been damaged, as well as lack of care when putting the gear away. If this sort of behavior carries on, we will be looking back at the camera footage and revoking memberships. So PLEASE be a little more responsible and take more care when using the pond and its facilities.

On another note, the ponds access gate will be out of action until sometime tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The outboard motor will only be available to group bookings moving forward also.
