Yodai is happy to extend this offer to Ārahi members as well!

Hey team: Yodai's glove sponsor, GravityFree Sports, has once again offered North Shore members a special discount on all custom gloves.

The premium Japanese Terada Kip option usually starts at US$350 for adult size gloves, but Yodai has secured us a rate of US$250 + US$10 per special customization (text, pictures, logos, etc).

They offer heaps of customization options from simple text to using pictures you send them or creating silhouette logos from your actual playing pictures. The club is happy to provide NS logo image files if needed! See more examples at the GF Instagram page or visit https://gravityfreesports.com/simulation

GravityFree is a Korean glove brand with their factory in Japan. They use Premium Japanese Terada Kip leather just like some of the biggest glove companies out there like ATOMS and ZETT, for example.

We will set the end of June as the deadline for orders in this batch so the shipment should arrive by end of August, in time for spring training. There will be shipping costs and import tax, but that can be split across those who purchase - the more orders we get the less shipping per person.

If you have any questions, or to make an order, contact Yodai ASAP at [email protected]

Awesome to get so many Ārahi together last night to mark one year until we take the diamond in Kobe at World Masters Games 2027! With 75 players across five teams plus supporters and officials we reckon this might be the largest outbound tour in Baseball New Zealand history! And... nice photo bomb Laura McGoldrick!

⚾️ New Partner Announcement: Movement Mechanics ⚾️

Ārahi Baseball is excited to welcome Movement Mechanics as a club partner. Leading the osteopathy and movement support practice for baseball players, Vinny Reyland is an osteopath with 20+ years’ experience playing and working in diamond sports and his passion is helping baseball players move better, stay on the field, and consistently perform at their best.

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy is a hands‑on treatment approach that looks at how your whole body moves together. Rather than just treating “where it hurts”, it focuses on identifying movement restrictions and load issues that can lead to pain, reduced performance, or injury over time. In baseball — a sport built on repetition, rotation, and high forces — small movement limitations can quickly turn into arm pain, back issues, or ongoing niggles.

WHY MOVEMENT MECHANICS?

Movement Mechanics focus on how your body actually moves — not just treating injuries, but understanding why they happen in the first place. Whether you’re a pitcher dealing with arm pain, a hitter chasing more power, or just trying to stay on the field all season, they’ve got you covered.

WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES FOR BASEBALL PLAYERS?

• Better joint mobility for throwing, hitting, and fielding
• Improved load management through the season
• Reduced injury risk and faster recovery
• More efficient, powerful movement patterns

SERVICES AVAILABLE TO ĀRAHI MEMBERS:

• Osteopathy – Hands‑on treatment to improve movement, reduce pain, and support efficient throwing and hitting mechanics
• Acupuncture – Helps manage muscle load, pain, and recovery during training and competition
• Shockwave Therapy – Used for stubborn tendon or muscle issues that aren’t settling with rest alone

All treatments are combined with strength & conditioning principles and sport‑specific movement analysis, so care is practical and relevant to how baseball is actually played.

Members of the Ārahi Baseball Club will receive exclusive member rates on all modalities of treatment.

If you’re dealing with ongoing pain, want to stay healthy through the season, or are simply serious about moving and performing better, this partnership is here to support you.

Feel free to reach out to Vinny directly to have a chat about whether osteopathy could help your game: https://www.movementmechanics.nz/

Let’s build better athletes, one movement at a time!

Based in the heart of Auckland, Movement Mechanics Osteopathy is an evidence-based osteopathic clinic focused on acute injury management, injury prevention and rehabilitation.
