The new beginning has begun.
Blake Mouat and Crickett traveled to Cromwell ODE the place of his last event 16 months ago and Cricketts first event in nearly two years after going down in the truck.
First time in a dressage arena for Crickett and they pulled off some lovely moves. Sitting 2nd last out of 11 after the dressage with less than 15 faults covering the whole class.
Blake and Crickett went straight to the showjumping with no time for gear changes and completed a lovely clear round to move up to 9th.
Bring on the cross country after a very quick turn around from riding TJ he raced over to the start of the cross country a couple of quick practice jumps and they were away.
DOUBLE CLEAR in Cricketts first ever cross country round in the 65cm class.
Highlights of the day for Blake was the feeling after jump 4 a bank realizing holy s**t we are doing this, the feeling of going through the finish flags having had an epic ride and the end of the dressage test having completed it and having Crickett try so very hard for him.
Bonus was that he then jumped to a mighty 2nd place in their first ode together.
Massive thanks goes to Central Otago Pony Club for putting on a very well run day
Class sponsors Bright Dynes, Horsempire and Dunstan Horse Feeds for their vouchers.
