On the 11th April we hosted Te Rapa Tavern Pool Club at Ngatea and had an awesome afternoon with Larry and his team.
The result was a 16-19 win to Te Rapa, the food, drinks and company were outstanding and we thank the visitors for the great camaraderie enjoyed by all.
We look forward to the away challenge in Te Rapa and seeing all you good people on your home turf.
Thanks to Raewyn, Gypsy and team for the lovely meal and to all those that assisted in making the day very enjoyable.
Thanks also to Sidhu, Lisa and Love for their input and all our pool club family for your great effort.

And that’s a wrap on Maadi 2026 for HPC — and what a phenomenal campaign it’s been! 🙌
Our small but mighty squad of just 17 rowers has achieved something truly remarkable:
✨ 11 x A Finals (top 8 in NZ)
✨ 2 x B Finals (top 16 in NZ)
✨ 2 Silver Medals 🥈🥈
✨ 1 Bronze Medal 🥉
✨ Placing us in the - top 21 schools out of 113 - with over 2,200 rowers competing nationwide.
We are bursting with pride. These kids have shown unwavering dedication, early mornings, grit, and heart. They have represented our community on the biggest rowing stage in the country with absolute class.
To our rowers — you are simply amazing. You go above and beyond, you dig deep when it counts, and you carry our community with pride every time you hit the water. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.
This is more than results — this is heart, teamwork, and community. ❤️

Great day playing pool v Te Kauwhata at their pub yesterday.
24 players each side, singles and doubles came down to a playoff between Daniel(N) and Troy(TK) after challenge was 18 all at the end with Dan winning a tight game.
Thanks to everyone for an awesome day, great food, refreshments and most of all the fantastic, sociable folk of TK, we look forward to hosting you at Ngatea.

Fantastic day yesterday running fundraiser for U18 secondary school, (eg Hauraki Plains College), rowing teams to attend the 2026 Maadi Cup, largest regatta in Sthn Hemisphere, on Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel later this month.
From Pool comp, raffles, auction, Karaoke and spot prizes to a kids snail race, a great time was had by all.

Sponsors Ngatea Hotel(Sidhu), Paton Kitchens(Malcolm) and Matt who ran his Karaoke setup free of charge, we thank you for your invaluable input.

To those Ngatea Pool Club section, Hunting and Fishing section and Hauraki Rowing Club members who assisted with running the day, words can't express our appreciation of your contribution other than you are all priceless, thanks so much to you all.

To the people who attended,we could not have made this the success it was without you coming and spending your hard earned and your company made the afternoon both memorable and enjoyable.

Welcome all to our new web page where you can post comments, pics and videos of our activities to share with friends and families so others may get the urge to join us.

Pool Club night, (you do not have to be a member), is every Thursday 7pm (6.45pm deadline for entries), at Ngatea Hotel, and is open to a max number of 32 players (1st in 1st served), members get priority over visitors if capacity is exceeded.
$5.00 entry( guaranteed min of 2 × games)

Annual subs are $20.00 if you are keen and include many benefits throughout the season which runs from Feb - Nov.
