My teenage son told me last night that my marketing is old school. It’s not modern, not reaching youngsters like his generation. I felt attacked. I thought what does this young punk know? I get what he was saying. That I am not following the trend to up my marketing tactics. That’s why my business is not growing.
I took a moment to think what it might be like to ‘follow the trend’ and I cringed. It is not me, not who I am, not my real authenticity. To make a business that is not authentic and simply following the trend is not what I’m here to do. It is not just about stepping out of my comfort zone. It is not even a zone I would imagine myself to be. It is not in alignment with my values. To create a business out of alignment of my values would be a fraud in my opinion. I simply can’t even make myself do that. So here I am, posting what holds meaning in my heart, little things of beauty that I care for, and put my heart and soul into building and loving. This is who I am. If you resonate with me, give me a ❤️. Or better yet, save this post to remind yourself that no matter who the world told you, that you should be, you need to follow your heart and just be yourself.
In my natal chart, it is already stated that my business is ever changing, and it is build block by block, step by step, and not a sudden leap in success. Because I am anchored in what I do, I walk the talk without fancy marketing. I draw in only people who resonate with me. Authentic people that I care about. Superficiality has no place in my circles.
While my son tells me that I’m a fossil, I hope that I am teaching him a different lesson. To stand firm in being who he is, and remember who he is meant to be, instead of becoming what the world expects him to be.
Parenting in this modern world is way more challenging, as we navigate the rapid changes of AI and what it’s trying to make the new generations become. I am so ok being old school, and hopefully some of these old school traits will live on in my future ancestors to come. 🙏🏻🌈
