Due to popular demand, the New Zealand Masters are back, with our next tour just announced for March/April of 2027!

The concept of the NZ Masters is to provide exciting overseas touring opportunities to masters (40+) cricketers. The cricket is competitive but the team is open to everyone, not just the elite players.

This time we are heading to beautiful Sri Lanka and vibrant Bangalore on an epic 18-day, 8-game tour. The timing is perfect for club cricketers, as we start just after the completion of the NZ summer season.

We will start in Colombo and play two games there, before heading down the coast to Galle for two more games, some beach time and a tour of the famous Galle Fort.

Then we fly to the Bengaluru (Bangalore), India's "Garden City", where we will play 4 more games against teams organised by Veterans Cricket India, and also attend an IPL game (schedule-dependent).

We will stay at 5-star hotels all the way, play on great grounds against age-appropriate local opposition, see the local sights, get driven around in a/c buses, and experience some amazing local food and culture. There will be plenty for wives and partners to do as well.

Places are limited and filling up quickly. If you are keen to join this adventure, contact Jim at 021 111 4059 or [email protected].

Well, the New Zealand Masters' tour of Zimbabwe and Namibia has come to an end. We have had two magnificent weeks travelling around these beautiful countries, playing cricket (unsuccessfully!), seeing spectacular scenery, doing amazing things, meeting new people and making lifelong friends.

We finished up in Walvis Bay on the coast, where we played a game at Sparta United and went on a 4WD tour where the huge sand dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. Everyone is now making their way back home or on to other adventures.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in the tour for making it such a success. The supporters were wonderful. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable.

This was the New Zealand Masters' second tour. Our third one is already being planned ... stay tuned for details!

Cricket tours are all about experiences and we have just had one that will stay with all of us for a long time.

Two hours out of Windhoek, in the Namibian wilderness, is the farm of Francois Erasmus and his family. It is a stunning place - a beautiful home, a unique glamping setup, a private cricket ground, 2000 acres of gorgeous landscape and animals, and unmatched hospitality.

We have just finished up two memorable days here. The evenings and mornings were freezing cold but the days were warm and sunny. The cricket was somewhat disappointing - again, we had a few good individual performances (Jason Mohi and Aaron Havill both scored 67 and set us up to chase 282 after Tony Eldershaw and Adam Geck had both bowled well, but no one else could reach 20 and we fell short) - but everything else has been magnificent.

The food has been outstanding and our hosts have treated us like royalty.

After the match we jumped on the open top Jeeps and explored the farm, spotting Springboks, kudu, oryx and two majestic giraffes .

We hit the road again shortly for the next stage of our adventure.

Our two games in Windhoek have been a little frustrating, results-wise. In both games we have had some excellent individual performances, but we just haven't been able to put together a full team effort.

In the first game, we batted pretty well to score 236 from 40 overs (led by 86 to our captain Jason Mohi ) but we bowled poorly and the Central Veterans got home easily.

The unexpected cold (sub-10 degrees and a freezing wind) was no excuse.

In the second game, we bowled much better to restrict them to 219/8 (Tony Eldershaw and Adam Geck each took 3 wickets), but we squandered opportunities on a good batting wicket.

Nevertheless, we have been wonderfully hosted and entertained by Veterans Cricket Association of Namibia and are having a fantastic time.

Today we drive out into the countryside for the next stage of the tour, which we are greatly looking forward to.
