Fantastic day on safari for the New Zealand Masters on our last day in Victoria Falls. Most of the group headed over to Chobe National Park in Botswana for a magical experience.

We have now left Zimbabwe and landed in Namibia for the second leg of the tour.

The New Zealand Masters have had a couple of days off cricket at the incredible Victoria Falls. Some of the group took a helicopter tour, while others explored the falls and most of us went on a lovely dinner cruise in the evening. After a full-day Safari today (pics to come), we will be heading to Namibia tomorrow.

It was a fantastic effort from the boys yesterday but we couldn't quite get over the line against the Zimbabwe Masters - a team comprised of over-40s, over-50s and over-60s internationals.

We ended up just 9 runs short of our target of 246. Carl Petersen top scored with 50, in a scorecard that had a rare decreasing sequence.

Despite the result, everyone is having a great time and we now head to Victoria Falls for some R&R to end the Zimbabwe leg of the tour.

The New Zealand Masters had a first-up loss against a good local side yesterday, but the match was actually closer than the score would suggest.

Chasing a hefty 259 to win from 40 overs, we were on track at the half way stage, thanks to an excellent partnership between Aaron Havill (81) and Jason Mohi (39) but wickets fell fairly quickly after that and we ended up well short.

Nevertheless, it was a good blowout for the boys and a nice introduction to African conditions. Our hosts were magnificent and we look forward to today's T20 match at Sunrise CC.

And we are underway ... the New Zealand Masters have touched down in Harare for our 7-match tour of Zimbabwe and Namibia .

We kicked things off with a training session this afternoon, followed by our traditional Opening Dinner tonight.

Our first of three games in three days takes place tomorrow.

The New Zealand Masters are heading to Zimbabwe and Namibia shortly. The tour starts in Harare on June 11 and finishes in Windhoek on June 26. The guys will play 7 games and see the best that these two countries have to offer.

Jason Mohi from Napier will lead the side.

In exactly a month, the New Zealand Masters will be enjoying their Opening Dinner in Harare and preparing for an epic tour of Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Here is another snippet from our tour itinerary.

Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the world's largest sheet of falling water. It's an incredible sight to behold.

We will spend two days there to cap off the Zimbabwe leg of our tour.

Here's a little sneak peek of one stage of the NZ Masters tour of Zimbabwe/Namibia.

After the Zimbabwe leg of the tour, and then three days in the Namibian capital of Windhoek, we will head out to the outback, to a tiny little place called Otjeviruke and the private farm/game reserve of Francois Erasmus. Francois' place is amazing ... a beautiful house, a fantastic "glamping" set-up, and his own private cricket ground.

It's unique experiences like this that make cricket tours - especially New Zealand Masters Cricket ones - so memorable.

Four New Zealand Masters players have been named in the New Zealand Over-40s team to play in the IMC Over-40s World Cup in Guyana later this year.

Congratulations to Steven Hobson, Lincoln Reed, Sugumar Jeralld and Nuwan Weerasooriya on their selection - well done, lads!

The NZ Masters are off to Zimbabwe and Namibia in less than two months, so stay tuned for updates on that as well.

New Zealand has named its squad to play in the IMC Over-40s World Cup in Guyana later this year.

There are plenty of new faces in the 15-man squad - 6 debutants in total - and some more experienced internationals, including 3 veterans of the previous World Cup in 2024.
