Yesterday the club celebrated as a team with a mid winter Xmas.
We were honored with the head of Sorriso Nation, Paulo Sorriso and team.
We played games ( I'm sure the kids cheated at the tug of war), we did some BJJ with our guests and enjoyed a meal afterwards.
It was a moment where all the classes regardless of age could come together and laugh. We are so grateful for the families that supported us, and those who helped in the kitchen to prepare our feast
It was a proud moment too, with a couple of the coaches levelling up, Phil Emerson to blackbelt, and Amara Jones to blue. This was incredibly special as Paulo is an iconic coach and mentor to us all at the club.
We are lucky to have his skills, knowledge and passion in our corner
Thank you to Dave Johnston Becs, Kieran, Ray and Aaron for coming down to support this moment, also to Nathan Craven for his support of the club over the years.
It was very special having these guests present to help celebrate our club.
Thabk you all again for your support. We missed those who couldn't make it, and we look forward to our next activities.

We are very proud of all our younger members, you represented us with great respect and courage.

Awesome day on the mats yesterday.

Fundamentals all day long!

The 5-8 year old class kicked it off by focusing on a guard pass

The advanced kids recapped a cross collar from guard.
They then progressed into a scissor sweep that finished with the cross collar

The adults classes finished a perfect day with huge numbers. FUndamental adults started with an arm drag to a takedown.
Working from closed guard, progression of a double-under pass to a paper cutter.
Advanced adults-entries to triangles and the finish.

First class back for our 5-8 year old class, and the energy was limitless. I was tired just watching them!

Trying some of the concepts taught by Paulo Sorriso at a coaches session last week. Simplifying the class. Less techniques, but ensuring the technique is understood by all.

Today was allowing the kids to figure out how to break their opponents posture on their own and then adding some simple direction.

We were honored by the presence of the head of Sorriso Nation Paulo Sorriso on the mat tonight.

We are lucky to be under his guidance, his commitment to teaching and growing our team is incredible

Our coaches are still reeling from the depth of the lesson. The team including some of the older kids turned up in force to witness a mindblowing display of knowledge and will remember this for a lifetime.
