9.00am - 11:30am. Playcentre philosophy is based on the ideas of child-initiated play and parents as first educators. Playcentre is an early childhood education service, run as a parent co-operative, which commits to the following in order to ensure the quality of early childhood educatio

n in each session:

-learning through play
-birth to school age
-mixed ages sessions
-family involvement

We are very proud of the excellent quality of our adult education programme and attendance in it is an essential component of being a Playcentre parent. This ensures we meet the requirements for licensed and chartered centres and more importantly, parents learn how to run sessions within Playcentre philosophy.

SAY YES TO MESS! Next week is Playcentre Messy Play Week! Come along and have some fun with us! Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Benefits for children: Promises fun, stimulates creativity, promotes physical development and encourages communication and social skills. Messy play is liberating, fun and fully absorbing. Naturally curious, children show high levels of concentration and engagement as they explore with their senses, which heightens their learning experience. From a child’s perspective, messy play is magical – full of excitement and pure joy.
A benefit for adults? The paint stains won’t be on your curtains and the playdough won’t be stuck in your carpet, so there’s no reason not to embrace messy play. Of course, you may be inspired to try it out again when you get home.

You're invited to Outdoor Play Week!
During Outdoor Play Week (3–7 November), all Playcentres will be open for whānau with tamariki aged 0–6 to come and experience the magic of outdoor play.
We offer a wide range of outdoor play activities designed to support child-led learning and development. From messy play and nature-based exploration to climbing, gardening, and building, our centres provide safe, engaging environments where children thrive.
Everyone is welcome! Mums, dads, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and caregivers are welcome to attend with your tamariki. And visits are free!
