The Kawhatau Outdoor Education Centre Set in the heart of the Rangitikei, the Kawhatau Outdoor Centre is the perfect venue for large group gatherings with 60 beds, large kitchen & ample space.

Since the last Quiz Night we had at Awastone -Riverside Haven was such an awesome night, WE'RE DOING IT AGAIN!!!
Mark FRIDAY 1st AUGUST on your calendars and head on down for a fantastic night of fun, laughs and exercising the ole grey matter 🤩 Teams of 4, $10 per person. Quiz kicks off at 7pm but doors will be open earlier so head on down and treat yourself to dinner beforehand. A light supper will be provided too. SEE YOU THERE!!!

The Centre's Committee would like to wish you all the very best for the Festive Season. It is great to see groups making bookings well ahead of time to ensure they can enjoy our special place in the heart of the Rangitikei.
We have had a last minute cancellation from Monday 6th January 2025 through to a check out on Thursday 9th January 2025 - a nice break away from the hustle and bustle with time to be back into the action for the weekend. Please feel free to message or contact us through the website.

One of the best things about having a wee gem like the Centre in our vicinity is the chance to host a get together for the locals when there's a gap in the calendar, so we took advantage last night and hit the trifecta - Great weather, great food, great company 😊

A few updates to the Centre just in time for the busy Summer season ☀️ We said goodbye to our well loved and used couches and upgraded to an awesome corner suite - perfect to sit and relax on a lovely Kawhatau Valley summers day with the doors open onto the deck, and just as welcoming in the cooler months with a good book and the fire going 😊
