🏎️ ALEX CHRONIS NIGHT CHALLENGE 🏎️

This weekend we celebrated a whole year of Jesse racing with his second Alex Chronis Night Challenge!

It was such a good couple of days and the karts looked amazing.

5 Cadets in total - the most Jesse has raced with and a real mix of results.
4th, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
& finishing with a 4th.

At first he was gutted after the fourth race when he realised he’d not probably not make the podium - but when we got to the pit lane after the final we found him celebrating his mates and their wins and he was just as happy for them as he would have been for himself.

Conditions were rough - the dark, the cold and the rain but the boys were awesome all weekend long!

Looking back at Jesse’s results from last year where the conditions were not as wet he’s made so much progress in his times and has made us so proud every race with his dedication and hard work - but most of all his sportsmanship he has made some awesome friends and they look out for each other on and off the track.

Saturdays best laps: Dark, Cold, Raining.

Heat 1 45.288
Heat 2 46.698
Heat 3 46.267
Heat 4 46.405
Heat 5 46.172

Last years best laps: Dark, cold, foggy.

Heat 1 48.804
Heat 2 48.142
Heat 3 48.483
Heat 4 51.222
Heat 5 50.706

Next month we hope to try out Kartsport Manawatu before moving Jesse up to VMR.

A massive thank you as always to Uncle Matty, Carey, Jack, Granny, Grumpsy & everyone else for their help in making this happen alongside Mum & Dan.

And to all our sponsors - particularly Fragile Express who get us here every race day and set us up a great pit site!

🏎️ Jesse had something special in the post this week…

Recently he and his sister got “wise cards” for their savings and pocket money.

One night we got a notification Jesse had spent $108 on his card…

Turns out he’d done some online shopping - and purchased himself a Ryan Wood top 😅😅😅
Without assistance or permission 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Not knowing if the site was legit.
Selecting $35 for fast shipping
& not realising the AUD exchange rate 😬🤑

Luckily, it showed up in the post this week and he is stoked with his purchase - even if banned from online shopping and broke.

I guess you can’t put a price on having idols and looking up to others chasing their racing dreams 😊

🏎️ Kartsport Academy & July Club Day 🏎️

Wow! What a weekend!

Jesse had Friday & Saturday at the track for the Kartsport Academy then Sundays race day.

The Academy was an early birthday present and he states it was the best present ever and I’d have to agree.
The Academy was amazing! Lead by such talented and passionate coaches (all karting/racing champs or legends) that spent two days sharing their wisdom and patience while fine tuning everything from track knowledge to kart set ups and of course on track coaching for each karter individually working on specific spots and improvements.

Jesse was so chuffed with his goodie pack and lanyard felt like Liam Lawson 😉
We are so proud of how he applied himself for the 2 days - listening, taking notes, taking on all feedback and asking questions and it paid off big time as he cracked new PBs all weekend and then come race day won 2 out of 5 races - few crashes slowing him down on the others 😣.
But you could see his progress all weekend long!
Jesse’s previous sunny day track record was a 43.4 - over the 2 academy days he got this down to a 41.88 - needed to get a 41.9 for $100 😝 I hope his coaches see he got there - they were all backing him!

Come race day he bet this again with a 41.68 🥳🥳
Heat 1 - 2nd
Heat 2 - 1st
Heat 3 - 1st
Heat 4 - 2nd
Heat 5 - 3rd unfortunately got into a big crash on the first lap. Then crashed into in the pits damaging the kart and hurting his neck & collar bone - but he still ended the day happy, proud and not too exhausted to yap all the way home.

Biggest thanks to Uncle Matty at Fragile Express for the new slicks! This was Jesse’s first ever brand new set and he did them justice! 👌

His beloved pit crew consisted of Mama, Grumpsy, Dan & Uncle and we all learnt so much too.

Jesse had the best few days with fellow karters George - we loved pitting next to each other and sharing the time and skills - thanks for your help and company! Jesse and George are great mates and learnt so much together this weekend!
Was cool to hang with Harris too as Jesse will soon move up to VMR and join Harris and the older boys on track 🏎️🏎️🏎️

We are still in recovery after 3 track days in a row! But a massive thanks to the Academy, the pit crew, the sun for being there all 3 days and all the friends along the way!

So proud of you Jesse James! 🏎️🖤

Awesome race day today for the Strand decorators club champs.
5 heats then a Grand Prix to finish the day!
Will do his timing post during the week but as there was no prize giving today here’s a little wrap up from the man himself!
Big thanks to Uncle Matty from Fragile Express for karting us around and being pit crew as usual and to Jack for all his help today.
It was our first race day with out chief pitman Carey - felt a bit like a couple of clowns at the circus for the first set up - buuut we made it through the day! Thanks to Carey who even from across the world made sure to check in early this morning to make sure we were sorted for race day! 😊

I believe Jesse placed 2nd for club champs and 2nd for the Grand prix!

🏎️ MAY CLUB DAY 🏎️

Yesterday was quite the day of battles, not just on track but in the pits too! We overcame so many hiccups just to be on the track and it was a tough day 😓

Yesterday was CIK format:
- Practice
- Qualifying
- 3 heats
- Pre Final
- Final.

Jesse didn’t even make the first corner on the practice run before we ran into an issue with a bolt locking up the back wheels. Of course this bolt was near on impossible to get to without dismantling a lot so it was an anxious pit stop but Carey & Dan got it sorted. Thanks to Kyle also for having some nuts on hand too!

Qualifying became more like a practice but Jesse & Arlo still battled their way around the track. Arlo won qualifying and then kept that up for the remainder of the day! Well done Arlo.

1st heat Jesse got a new PB. His previous PB on reverse track on a sunny day was 46.4. Yesterday on a colder day/damp track he hit a 44.0 🥳🥳🥳 this is our win for the day!

2nd & 3rd heats were not great. Particularly the 3rd where Jesse had lots of slippery spins and ended up pulling off the track early as his visor was getting fogged up and he couldn’t see.
By now Jesse was wanting to call it a day and go home - but pulled it together to get back out on track.

Pre Final the weather had cleared up a bit. Our Kart wouldn’t start just before going out, but luckily again Carey & Dan got it sorted just in time. Jesse & Arlo had a great battle around the track and we could see Jesse was back in the zone! We give Jesse lots of pointers throughout the day (particularly Carey who actually knows what he’s doing) and Jesse does a great job of listening and putting things into practice. This was evident.
Arlo won the pre final too - but Jesse was just 0.162 seconds behind so it was very close in the end.

Final was a bit of a nail bitter Arlo and Jesse took turns at leading - after a couple of taps and spins. Jesse held the lead for a while but Arlo did a great job at catching him they had a little tap, Jesse spun and couldn’t catch Arlo back.

The CIK format was great to learn. Reverse track is always a new challenge and as always the weather makes for an interesting day!

Thanks so much to Carey & Jack for their support as usual! We were definitely kept on our toes this track day!

We look forward to June’s race day! These boys are doing awesome.

🏎️ MARCH SPONSOR 🏎️

This months sponsor is a little special as it is also the reveal of Jesse’s new kart livery!

Jesse at graphic.nz has helped level up the Kart with some new vinyl and all our sponsors.
Unfortunately there was issues with the vinyl staying on the bumper so it’s stayed black - but actually we’ve decided this looks cool and makes it much easier to spot Jesse on the track!
Thanks so much Jesse for the awesome job you did and bringing his kart to life! 🏎️

These are all our sponsors for 2026! 🥳🥳
We are so lucky to have so much support for Jesse on and off track as he chases down his dreams.

The Real Motherhood
Fragile Express
Truck Norris Texas BBQ
Carey Strand (Strand Painters & Decorators)
Biketranz
And of course .nz

You are all making this boys dreams come true!! 🖤🏎️

🏎️ MARCH CLUB DAY 🏎️

Little bit slow on the post for Jesse’s March race day (a couple of weeks ago) but that doesn’t reflect Jesse’s speed on the day!

It was so nice to see the sun shining for a race day! Usually we get rain or we watch the skies worrying for rain and changing conditions all day! So that was a bonus!

Jesse had an awesome day, 2 new personal bests! 2 first places, 2 second places and a third.
Overall he came second as it came down to the final heats results. Bit of a shame as he got knocked off track twice costing him his other leads BUT this is racing - so all in all good learning and experience.

His PB on a dry/sunny day is now 43.481 🥳🥳

You’ll also notice his new kart design - see this months sponsors post for more on that ☺️

As usual a massive thank you to everyone who helps us be here! Mum, Dan, Uncle Matty, Carey & Jack and everyone who comes to support - Sister, Gran, Grumps & Stan! 🏎️ well done Jesse James!

🏎️ EXCITING NEWS 🏎️

Next time Jesse hits the track his kart will have a flash new makeover 🥰

New “livery” as designed by Jesse & Mama that shows off all his awesome sponsors and has him looking swish on track!

We ran with the original kart look as it wasn’t far off our own ideas - but it is a bit patchy here and there so it’s time for a tidy up and to honour all the business’ who keep Jesse’s wheels rolling!
So watch this space!!
