Kaipaki Cricket Club Prizegiving 2025/26

What a fantastic night!

A great atmosphere, delicious dinner and outstanding entertainment with Foxy running the night.

Not to mention Blackcap Kristian Clarke sharing his story from picking up a cricket bat for the first time, to representing our country on the world stage, followed by a Q+A with the great man.

The Ray O’Connor Memorial Kaipaki 6’s 2026

What a day!

Plenty of entertaining cricket, beautiful weather and and awesome spread at lunch made for the perfect day out at Kaipaki Oval.

Inaugural Kaipaki Life Member David Fox was on the mic keeping the crowd entertained throughout the day and Kaipaki regular season player Kevin Morgan kept the teams in line and on time ensuring the day ran smoothly.

~ Ray O'Connor Memorial Kaipaki 6's ~

The big day is here!

Get on down to Kaipaki at 9am to support the teams and watch a great day of cricket.

The day includes, 14 games of 6 a side cricket, prizes, awards, bbq lunch and the return to action of the the inaugural Life Member of Kaipaki Cricket Club, David Fox.

Fox will be on the mic keeping you all entertained, throughout the day.

Match Report: Kaipaki CC v CCNSW

On Sunday 25th January, Kaipaki CC had the honor of hosting The Cricketers Club of New South Wales, a team who had spent the week on a tour of New Zealand, playing Morrisville, Cambridge and finally Kaipaki.

With the gloomy overhead conditions and soaked outfield, the visitors won the toss and chose to put Kaipaki in the field.

Rob Heke 1-16 (4) and Leith Schwass 1-19 (4) opened up for Kaipaki and made the most of the new ball conditions before the outfield turned it into a bar of soap.

With the bulk of the bowling shared around the Kaipaki side. Will Mitchell, Sam Musty, Lance Lee and Tyler Lee all picked up a wicket each, but it was Kevin Morgan who was the best of the day finishing with 2-11 (6) including 3 maidens in a row to finish his spell.

For the visitors multiple batters made starts but couldn't kick on with the job, losing wickets at regular intervals. Joshua Heldarskard looked dangerous early in his 20, also looking sharp at the crease was David Potts finishing with 21, but the pick of the CCNSW batters was Malcolm Freame who put on a delicate and masterful 21 before being run out.

At the innings break CCNSW finished with 168 all out.

In the chase Kaipaki opened with Simon White 33 (retired) and Dylan Jeffries 31 (retired). Although the CCNSW openers bowled well the Kaipaki top order had broken the back of the chase early with Lance Lee 19 (retired), Hiki Toroa 21(retired) and Dave Jury 32 (retired).

Through the middle overs CCNSW showed signs of fight as Tyler Lee was caught on 17 due to some outstanding bowling from Sittampalam Ragavan, but unfortunately it wasnt enough as Rob Heke 11(not out) hit the winning runs in the 28th over to win the fixture by 9 wickets.

Malcolm Freame was awarded man of the match for the visitors and was awarded with his own Kaipaki Baggy to take home and hang on the mantle piece.

For Kaipaki it was Dave Jury who was awarded man of the match due to his explosive batting, finishing with 32(17) not out.

In the end Kaipaki CC won the fixture by 9wickets but without a doubt the winner on the day was our glorious game called cricket.

Life long memories and friends were made yesterday, and we hope to host The Cricketers Club of New South Wales again sometime in the near future.

Week 8 is here and so is your first teamlist for 2026

*Kaipaki Green will not play this week*

Kaipaki Gold are first up at the Kaipaki fortress for the year and they look to keep the unbeaten streak at home alive, as they take on HKS Warriors.

Gold will back themselves to put plenty of runs on the board with the in form pair of Jarrod McDerger and Connor Cooke up top and the lethal Lee's, Lance and Tyler to follow, with the hard hitting Hiki Toroa completing the top 5.

Rounding out a strong batting order are the crafty all rounders, consisting of; Sean Gutry, Sam Musty, Shane Whittaker and Josh Rush.

Leith Schwass and Gold Captain Dylan Jeffries will take the new ball and look to break the back of the HKS batting order early.

Get down to Kaipaki Oval at 1pm sharp on Saturday to support your team!

Well, its official! Our man Kristian Clarke is officially a Blackcap. Kristian stood tall in his debut finishing unbeaten on 24* (17) , taking his maiden wicket and a great catch in the field.

We are extremely proud of you mate and we wish you all the best for your bright future in the world of cricket.

The Jeffries / Mahaffey Cup

What an Instant Classic!

A game that lived up to expectations of being an absolute thriller, coming down to the final 2 balls for a result.

Team Mahaffey batted first and it was Tuwhakaiti Winsor (20) and Jarrod McDerger (30) up the top of the order, after the first wickets fell Connor Cooke (28) and Sean Gutry (46) batted time in the middle adding valuable runs to the tally.

Angus Lynch (22) was next at the crease and also added valuable runs. James Nelson (17 not out) and captain Zach Mahaffey (18 not out) batted the innings out and got Team Mahaffey to a commanding 206-7 in their 40 overs.
In the field, Team Jeffries opened up with Zion Heke and Simon White. White was simply unplayable, he finished with the impressive figures of 0-14 off his 8 overs.

Other bowlers to chip in were Shane Whittaker 1-39 (7) and Max McNamara 1-39 (6). In steps captain Dylan Jeffries, bowling a mixture of seam up and spin, Jeffries made the most of his 200th appearance for the club by taking an outstanding 5 wicket bag finishing with 5-30 off his 8 overs.

In the chase, Team Jeffries opened with Lance Lee (51) and Dom Hodgson (39). After the strong start made by the openers Simon White (47) and Dylan Jeffries (16) entered the crease.

Dragging the game deep, the chase come down to the last over with Team Jeffries needing 5 runs to win, Shane Whittaker (8 not out) and Dylan Lee (3 not out) seen the team home to win with 1 ball spare in the match.

For Team Mahaffey in the field, it was captain Zach Mahaffey who was chief destroyer, taking 4-38 in his 8 overs consistently taking a wicket at crucial stages to keep his team in it.

Other bowlers to chip in for Team Mahaffey were, Angus Lynch 1-23 (8), Bonza Tamala 1-22 (3) and Jacob Duffy 1-13 (2)

In the end Team Jeffries won the fixture by 3 wickets to retain the Jeffries v Mahaffey Cup for the 3rd year running. But with the stunning weather, lunch and company, cricket and Kaipaki was the winner on the day.

As we reflect on the huge day for the club we congratulate our two captains, Dylan Jeffries who joins the exclusive 200 games played club, the first in our clubs history to do so and Zach Mahaffey signs off from the club after 160 games and 11 years of service to our proud club.
