Wellington based MKNZ representatives (Senpais’ Neiko and Miu)were warmly welcomed home after the successful MKA Australian national championships last weekend.
We also welcomed a special guest Senpai Rodney Murphy - from Townsville, North Queensland) who attended the Thursday class whilst visiting our Capital immediately after his own success in Sydney.

MKNZ is so proud of the efforts and results of the 5 representatives who competed in the Australian MKA National Championships last weekend.
All fighters achieved podium finishes (2 thirds, 1 second and 2 firsts).
This is by far the best results by any NZ team during the 50 years of this prestigious event.
Having come back with two Heavyweight titles - Senpai Neiko (Wellington) in the Open and Creed (Gisborne) in the Kyu Grade division far exceeded our expectations.
The event was again very well run with a high standard of officiating and bout management.
Special thanks to the tournament Director and MKA Chairman (Shihan Jim Sklavos) and our South Pacific Chairman (Hanshi Gary Viccars) - both pictured with myself and Senpai Neiko.
An added bonus was that both Hanshi Gary and Shihan Jim confirmed their attendance at next year’s MKNZ National Open Championships - to be held in Wellington on 21 February.
Time for all MKNZ members to now focus on preparing for that event, whether it be as a competitor, coach, official or supporter.
