🏉 U14 BOYS 2026 PROGRAMME – SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT 🏉

We are excited to announce the selected U14 Boys squad for the 2026 development programme as we build towards the One NZ Warriors& Southern Zone Rugby League U14s tournament in Nelson on October 3rd & 4th.

A big congratulations to all players selected — your effort, attitude, and commitment throughout the trials has been outstanding. This is the start of an exciting development journey for the group.

📍 Training Plan
Training will begin 10AM Every Sunday at Collegiate Rugby Club, 1st Session May 31st.

From September, the squad will move into two training sessions per week as we increase preparation towards tournament.

🏆 Tournament
Nelson – October 3rd & 4th

📢 Expectations
Players are expected to show strong commitment, effort, and a positive attitude throughout the programme. Consistency at training will be key as we prepare for tournament performance.

We are looking forward to a strong season ahead and building a committed, hard-working group.

🔥 MEN’S PREMIERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT – NEW FORMAT FOR 2026 🔥

Kia ora whānau,
There’s an exciting change coming to the NZRL Men’s Premiership competition in 2026 — and it’s all about making the game more accessible, sustainable, and inclusive for everyone involved.
Following feedback from districts across Aotearoa, the competition will move from a weekly format to a tournament-based structure.

What does this mean?
Instead of a long season, the Premiership will now be played as a short, high-impact tournament:
📍 South Island Tournament – Christchurch (Nga Puna Wai)
📅 12–13 September OR 18–19 September (TBC)

🏆 Top 2 teams progress to National Finals in Auckland (26–27 September)
