When the forklift needs a lift… 😅

Our side-by-side, kindly provided by Motorcycles , came to the rescue and made short work of getting it out of the grass.

Safe to say, it’s earning its keep around the Park! A huge thanks again to the team at Bay Motorcycles for your support 🛞💪

🏉 A historic weekend of rugby league is coming to Hawke’s Bay!

This Saturday and Sunday, Mitre 10 Park will host a huge weekend of NZRL senior representative rugby league, bringing some of the country’s best men’s and women’s teams to Hawke’s Bay.

Across the weekend we’ll host the NZRL Men’s Premiership North Island qualifiers, Sky Sport National Women’s Premiership, and the Men’s and Women’s National Championships – with Hawke’s Bay represented in both Championship competitions.

Games will be played across five fields, with the action building to the Men’s and Women’s Championship Grand Finals on Sunday afternoon, inside the Grandstand oval. 🏆

It’s fantastic to see national-level rugby league being played right here in Hawke’s Bay – so come on down, get behind our local teams and be part of a massive weekend at the Park!

💦 School holiday fun incoming!

Looking for something a little different these school holidays? Waterworld Inflatable Waterpark is taking over the pool at the Hawke's Bay Regional Aquatic Centre right here at the Park.

Think giant inflatables, obstacles, slides and plenty of opportunities to make a splash! 🌊

This looks like a whole lot of fun (and possibly a little bit exhausting 😂).

When? 27th, 28th and 29th of September!

🧡 Today is International Day of Charity.

At Mitre 10 Park, we see every day what giving looks like in sport.

It’s the coach who finishes work and heads straight to training. The parent who marks the field, manages the team or washes the uniforms. The officials, committee members and volunteers who give up evenings and weekends so others can play, compete and belong.

And behind all of that, there needs to be a place for it to happen.

As a charitable trust, Mitre 10 Park works to provide Hawke’s Bay with accessible, quality facilities where our community can train, play, compete and connect, from young people taking their first steps into sport to athletes competing at the highest level.

Keeping a regional sports park running, maintaining and improving facilities, and making them available to our community takes significant investment. Like the clubs and organisations who call the Park home, we rely on the generosity of funders, sponsors, donors and supporters to help make it possible.

This International Day of Charity, if you’d like to support sport in Hawke’s Bay, you can make a donation to Mitre 10 Park here: www.mitre10park.co.nz/donations

🧡 Every contribution helps us keep creating a place where Hawke’s Bay can play.

🚧 Track update: we’re grinding away!

There’s plenty happening at the William Nelson Athletics Precinct as our track transformation continues.

💦 Pressure washing - done
🏗️ Runway extension foundations - built
📍 Surveying is underway to pinpoint the locations for our new SmartTrack magnets
⚙️ Now we’re grinding away at the existing rubber surface, and getting the track ready for what comes next.

There’s dust, machinery and plenty of mess - all signs of progress!

Hoardings will be going up shortly as the big stuff starts happening. For now, a few footprints in the dust aren’t going to hurt… but we definitely don’t want footprints in the new rubber surface! 👣😬

Every day is another step closer to our brand-new track. 🧡🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🧡 Why adopt a metre?

For Olympian Dianne Rodger (nee Zorn), adopting a metre of our new athletics track is about more than a name on a plaque. It’s about memories, connection and leaving a lasting mark on a place that has meant something special to her.

We asked Dianne to tell us why she chose to Adopt a Metre at Mitre 10 Park.

🎥 Here’s what she had to say…

Every metre has a story. What could yours be? 🧡

🥊 International Boxing Day | Growing GIANTS in Hawke’s Bay

Today, on International Boxing Day, we’re celebrating our neighbours here at Mitre 10 Park – the Hawke's Bay Youth Trust and Hastings Giants Boxing Academy

For , boxing has always been about much more than what happens in the ring.

The Hawke’s Bay Youth Trust uses boxing as a vehicle to connect with rangatahi, build life skills and help young people find pathways into education, employment and positive futures. Their work is built around three pillars designed to create belonging, self-worth and confidence.

Through the discipline of Olympic-style boxing, young people learn respect, control and courage – skills they can carry into school, work, study, whānau and everyday life.

Giants has been part of Mitre 10 Park since moving into its purpose-built home alongside Central Districts Cricket, giving the Trust room to grow the impact it has on rangatahi across Hawke’s Bay.

We’re incredibly proud to have them here at the Park and to see sport being used not just to develop athletes, but to develop strong, confident young people.

🥊 Happy International Boxing Day to the Giants team and everyone they support. 🧡
