Remember the Annual Dio Rowing Auction? It’s been a tradition in the club for a long time! It’s a great way to raise funds to help with the costs of the upcoming season, there’s some fabulous items in the auction and raffles and the best part is…our Waikato Dio Rowing friends and family get to socialise! It’s always a fun night so, if you’d like to join in the fun…and support the club, there’s still time to book tickets. Better still, grab some of your old crew mates and get a table! Congratulations to: Hannah Tomlin, Milan Nordstrom, Georgia Trebilco and Maclaine Stuart for their selection in the U18 North team. They raced the U18 South team in 16 events and the North won the cup for the first time in 5 years. Well done girls!
Huge Congratulations to our Dio rowing captain Issy Melville was named in the New Zealand U19 Rowing Team to compete at 2024 U19 World Championship Regatta in St Catharines, Canada in August. Alice Denyer, our senior rowing coach and Director of Rowing has also been selected to coach the NZ U19 team. Congratulations Issy & Alice on this fabulous achievement. What a fantastic way to end the 2023/24 season for Waikato Dio Rowing! 💚🤍

Waikato Dio won two more medals on the final day at the Maadi regatta in Twizel 2024.
Our U16 4+ girls won silver 🥈 and our U15 8+ won bronze 🥉 What a fantastic week and a huge effort by all the girls in our Dio rowing squad…the Waikato Dio rowing legacy lives on 💚🤍

Great to see Dio get a bronze medal in the U16 8+ yesterday 🥉👏 and our U18 4+ get the gold medal and win the Dawn Cup 🥇🏆...

Great to see Dio get a bronze medal in the U16 8+ yesterday 🥉👏 and our U18 4+ get the gold medal and win the Dawn Cup 🥇🏆 at Maadi. The Dawn Cup has been won by Waikato Dio 3 times….were you in one of the crews or know someone that won it in 2015 or 2019?? Tag your crew mates from those years or better still share a photo 💚🤍

Just a friendly reminder…. If you are joining us for our WDRC 30 Year Celebration this Saturday, March 2nd from 5-7pm, please RSVP to: [email protected] so we can confirm numbers for catering. The celebration will take place at the Sir Don Rowlands Centre at Karapiro after the racing at the North Island Secindary Schools (NISS) regatta. Nibbles provided and cash bar available. As we are about to have our 30 Year Celebration, we want to reach out to past rowers, their families and supporters. We encourage you to post pics of your rowing days at WDRC and tag your crew members.
