Welcome to 2025 and another exciting Football Season. My name is Mark Ball, and with the support of the Waikato Football Academy, I am floating the concept of coaching and referee mentoring to help those who are doing a great job Coaching or refereeing junior or school football games below the High school level.
I have been involved in Football for over 40 years, in Administration, playing, coaching, and refereeing, and I have seen and experienced a lot within the game. (My Football CV is available on request.)
There are a lot of parents, teachers, and volunteers out there taking on the roles of Coaches and Referees and may need some behind-the-scenes help. I am not looking to take on any team but want to be there offering support, coaching, and refereeing ideas for the good of the players.
I would like to help coaches/parents become confident and accurate when refereeing, thus becoming productive and giving the players a positive and enjoyable experience playing the game. I would like to help here if a lack of knowledge or understanding of the laws of the game is the issue.
Now this concept is quite new, and I feel it is needed but I will need the support of those invested in the game to make playing the game enjoyable, safe, and enjoyable for young players.
This would be a user pays situation but not expensive.
