Kettlebells are one of the best tools for building strength, fitness, balance and endurance all in one workout.

Swings, carries, presses, squats - you name it. They get the whole body working and keep training challenging without overcomplicating it.

🎉 Eight years. EIGHT. YEARS. 🎉

Today marks 8 years since The Rec Room first opened its doors in Feilding and we’re still going strong!

Eight years of early starts, late night sessions, new faces becoming regulars, and regulars becoming family. Eight years of showing up, and we wouldn’t have made it a single one of them without this community behind us.

Every year we think about how to mark it, and every year we end up doing something at the gym. So this year we’re mixing it up. We’re taking it off-site, keeping it relaxed. Good drinks, good people, good vibes celebrating something we’re all proud to be a part of.

We’re getting together on Friday 12th June. Keep an eye out for the newsletter this week for all the details. If you actually opened last week’s one, you’re already ahead of the game 👀

🏃‍♀️ Congrats to the amazing Olivia Leckie! 🏃‍♀️

Olivia (Year 9 at Feilding High School) is a competitive runner and has had a pretty awesome few weeks.

Earlier this month, Olivia won the Feilding High School Girls Cross Country Division over a tough 5km course through the school farm, finishing with a big hill to finish and crossing the line in 21:47min 🥇

Then last week she backed it up at the Manawatū Secondary Schools Cross Country, taking out the Year 9 division over 3km in 11:23min 🏆

That is rapid! Some seriously cool results, with a great future ahead.

We love seeing our members put in the work toward something they care about and it’s awesome seeing that effort pay off.

When Belinda realised her son Tyla’s weight was beginning to impact his wellbeing and independence, she knew it was time to make a change. Since starting at the Rec Room, Tyla has completely transformed - not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

So far, Tyla has lost an amazing 24.2kg and dropped 3 clothing sizes! 💪
But more importantly, his energy, motivation, confidence and overall attitude toward life have grown massively.

Tyla now turns up to every PT session motivated, energetic and ready to work. For him, the gym has become more than just exercise - it’s become a place that supports his growth, confidence and independence.
