JAVIDAN ACADEMY IN-HOUSE TOURNAMENT & PRIZEGIVING🏆⚽️

Two weeks ago, we held our Javidan Academy In-House Tournament for our U13, U10 and First Kicks players, followed by our Academy Prizegiving, celebrating players from across all age groups.

A big congratulations to all the teams and players who took part. There was some great football, plenty of competition and some brilliant talent on display! 👏

Well done to all our individual award winners who were recognised at the prizegiving. Your hard work and commitment throughout the season has not gone unnoticed.

🏆⚽ What an incredible Matariki Weekend at the National NZ Afghan Futsal Tournament!

Over two fantastic days, our First Kicks, Juniors and Youth players showcased everything that makes our game special - skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and a genuine love for futsal.

A huge thank you to every player, parent, coach, volunteer and family who travelled from around New Zealand to be part of this special weekend. Matariki is a time to reflect, reconnect and celebrate new beginnings and this tournament truly captured that spirit by bringing our community together through futsal.

🏅 First Kicks Champions
Congratulations to Abulfazl's Blue Team on winning the Javidan First Kicks Final against Zohair's Team. A massive well done to both teams - you are all winners and the future of our game is very bright.

🏅Junior (U13) Champions
Congratulations to Javidan Black, led by Sadra Rezaie & Rohullah Noori, who defeated Christchurch United U11 Yellow in a thrilling penalty shootout. What a fantastic final played by two outstanding teams.

🏅Youth (U17) Champions
The U17 competition featured five quality teams, with every match played in great spirit. Congratulations to Christchurch United boys, who defeated Javidan on penalties after an exciting draw in the final. A fitting end to a brilliant youth competition.

More important than the results was seeing so many young people enjoying the game, making new friendships and representing their families and communities with pride. This is exactly why we continue to invest in youth.

A heartfelt thank you to NZ Afghan Sports Events, Belal Haidari & Mustafa Ahmadi and the entire organising team for creating another outstanding tournament.

Thank you also to our tournament sponsor SUPRA DENTAL - Dr Yannis Abrahim and Dr Ilias Noorman for your incredible generosity and continued support of our futsal community. May Allah reward you abundantly.

A big shoutout to our brother, Raj Nikhil, for helping us out with refereeing and media on the 2 days. Legend!

Alhamdulillah. 🤲⚽

Firstly, all praise belongs to Allah (SWT) for blessing me with the opportunity to serve as Director and Head Coach of Javidan Academy. I pray that He continues to guide me in serving our community with sincerity and humility.

This journey was never built by one person.

My greatest influence, after my parents, has been Agha Reza Hussaini - our coach, Sunday Farsi teacher, mentor and older brother. He inspired so many of us to love football, value our culture and become better people.

I also want to acknowledge Kaka Khafi, Haji Alishah Rajabi and everyone who has helped our community football since 2001. Your dedication laid the foundations we proudly continue today.

Today, Alhamdulillah, Javidan Academy has grown to significantly across our First Kicks, Juniors, Youth, Development and Men's First Team. Our mission is bigger than football, we are developing confident, humble, disciplined and respectful young people.

🔥 ONE WEEK TO GO! 🔥

The countdown is on for the National NZ Afghan Futsal Tournament 2026, taking place 11–12 July at MainPower Stadium, Rangiora! 🇳🇿⚽🇦🇫

🏆 16 of the best men's teams from New Zealand and Australia will battle it out to be crowned champions.

🌟 The future of our game will also be on show with competitions for First Kicks (4–7 years), U10, U13, and U17. We can't wait to see the next generation showcasing their talent.

Whether you're playing or supporting, come along for an exciting weekend of top-quality futsal, community, and great memories.

Both teams have shown fantastic commitment, teamwork, and determination throughout the season. It's great to see all the hard work paying off with two well-deserved league titles. 👏

A big thank you to Mini Football Leagues for providing such a fun and competitive competition. These leagues are a fantastic opportunity for our players to enjoy more football, stay connected, and continue developing their game.

WE’RE BACK ⚽️🔥

It’s been a little while since our last post, but we’re back and looking forward to sharing more of what’s happening across our football and futsal community.

Over the past few months, our focus has shifted to futsal as we prepare for the upcoming National NZ Afghan Futsal Tournament, taking place on Matariki Weekend (11–12 July) at Mainpower Trust Stadium.

From our First Kicks and juniors right through to our youth and senior men, everyone has been putting in the work and getting ready for what promises to be another fantastic tournament.

With teams travelling from across New Zealand and Australia, it’s set to be as competitive as ever and an awesome opportunity to catch up with football friends old and new.

TUESDAY COMMUNITY FUTSAL ⚽️🔥

With the wet weather around, futsal was the only way and the boys delivered.

Great turnout tonight with around 28 players, a strong mix of youth and senior boys guiding and pushing each other on the court. Teams were evenly matched, so we finished the night with a Youth Team of the Night vs Senior Team of the Night, picked from everyone who attended.

Another tight battle… and once again it ended all square 🤝

The youth bounced back with a late goal to level it up - showing real fight and belief.

Game 2 coming next session to decide the winner 👀⚽️

SUNDAY = FOOTBALL ALL DAY ⚽️💙

A full and fun day of football across all levels.

Morning kicked off with our regular Senior Afghan Football at Lancaster Park - an intense battle between two quality sides, with Javid Hussaini’s team taking the win over Asif Haidari’s today 👏⚽️

In the afternoon, some of the boys were invited for a friendly against our Sunday League brothers, Babasiga Lions. A fun, open game with plenty of goals - Lions coming away with the win 🦁🔥

We wrapped up the day with our Sunday Community Training, with first team, youth and juniors all involved. Coach Angel ran the session before finishing with an internal match to put training into game situations -great intensity and learning.

Juniors finished strong too, with Team MESSI (Abolfazl Haidari) beating Team RONALDO (Mohammad Ahmadi) to be tonight’s champs 🏆⚽️

⚪️Session 3 | Haris Zeb Elite Performance Coaching⚪️

Another great turnout for another top-quality session with Haris and our boy, Jaylen Rodwell last night at Avonhead Park 🙌

The boys got stuck into:
• Rondos
• 1v1 shooting
• Fast feet & movement
• 7v7 games
• Finishing with our favourite - Running 💪

High intensity, plenty of learning and lots of smiles. Exactly how it should be.

We’re also proud to officially announce our partnership with HZ Elite Coaching as Haris begins his journey;

This partnership is about raising standards, creating pathways and giving our players access to professional guidance right here in Christchurch. Haris is a great role model for the upcoming generations.

A huge thank you once again to both, Haris and Jaylen for delivering another quality session and continuing to inspire our boys. More to come 🔥

⚽️ FRIDAY COMMUNITY TRAINING ⚽️

Game night with a great turnout and a full 11v11 to finish the week. High intensity, good energy, and plenty to take away from the session.

The non-bibs team came out on top with a strong performance - great team play, pressing together at the right moments, winning the ball high and taking their chances. Well deserved 👏

We also had our juniors training tonight - a smaller and very young group, but awesome to see them out there learning, playing and enjoying the game.

A special night for little Ali, who joined us for his first session and also got to meet 2 professional footballers (Haris and Jaylen). Love seeing the next generation and current superstars together 💙

Awesome effort from all the boys and a big
shoutout to Coach Angel. Even though he’s only just getting started with us, the improvements are already showing. Excited to see what the future holds 💪🔥
