A massive well done to our incredible team of seventeen swimmers who competed at our very own QEII Ruth Woolley Memorial Meet at Parakiore over the weekend! 🎉🙌🥇

The team lifted for our home meet, delivering a number of awesome swims, a heap of personal bests, and incredible qualifying marks. It was great to see the team lift for finals (or swim offs!) as well as cheering loudly as their teammates raced, grabbing a sneaky butterfly relay victory by the smallest of margins and crushing a huge number of personal bests! It was fantastic to have you all down at the pool for the very first short course meet at the new facility.✨️🏊‍♂️

Congratulations to Chloe, Scarlett and Ben who swum under qualifying marks for New Zealand Short Course champs later in the year and Tilly and Joe who swum under Division II qualifying marks! Also, special mention to Avalon taking on the 400m Freestyle for the first time!💪🏊‍♀️

A big thank you to all the people that donated their time for this meet, events like this don't just happen, and we are incredibly grateful for the village that supports our athletes:

We are super excited to hosting our meet again this year in what will be the first short course meet at the new Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre! 🥳

Come down, make a splash and have some fun 💦

We are excited this year to be holding heats and finals of all four 50m races - not just once but twice at the meet! Both Saturday and Sunday have all four 50s in the programme. On top of this, four finals (Male and Female, 13&U and 14+) will be raced at the end of each session. Enter as many 50ms as you like!🥇🥈🥉

👀 Please make sure you enter the 50s on the correct session!

Want to qualify for NZ Short Course Champs? We require a certain number of officials and timekeepers so these results can be used for national qualifications. Please fill out the form on the SCWC event page so we can make this happen.🙏

Amazing job from our team of four racing at the Ashburton Splash in the weekend. Back racing short course again, the team performed extremely well with a big haul of personal bests at an awesome 85% personal best rate! Big shout out to Macie and Sophie who scored nine personal best from their nine races over the weekend while also notching up their first 400m Freestyles - well done girls! ✨️🎉

Big congratulations to Scarlett who qualified for New Zealand Short Course Champs for the first time and Leah for closing in on those Division II QTs. 👏

Also big well done for to those stepping up and trying new events!🙌

Big congratulations to the entire team who competed at the Wharenui Winter Olympics held at Parakiore in the weekend. 🎉✨️

We had an excellent set of results with 21 personal bests from our small team at a rate of 88% showing off our consistency and hard work in the lead up to this meet!👏🏊‍♂️

We had two swimmers who went under qualifying marks for the upcoming New Zealand Championships in Auckland next month. Max who qualified for the 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly, and Chloe who qualified in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly! Chloe also went under the qualifying times for her age group for New Zealand Short Course Champs later in the year!🙌

Congratulations to John, Chloe and Max who won medals at the meet as we got to practise heats and finals.👏

Big shout out to Tigerlily who has collected her first Swimming Canterbury West Coast XLR8 badge! 🎉🎉

XLR8 is a motivational programme designed for our junior swimmers (aged 12 and under) to encourage them to focus on acquiring skills across all competitive strokes and distances, thus providing a balanced foundation for our young swimmers.

Swimmers receive badges when they achieve 1500 pts, 2000 pts and 2500 pts.

Swimmers need to race
1. Distance Race [400m, 800m, 1500m Free]
2. Stroke Race [200m Back, 200m Breast, 200m Fly]
3. Medley Race [200m IM, 400m IM]
