March 14th - Falcons V's Halswell.
The games between these two teams are always close, competitive and exciting, with Halswell usually coming out on top. But today the tables were turned, the Falcons were magnificent and deserved their win. Some great pitching and fielding from both sides had the scores 3 - 3 at the end of the first innings.

The Falcons stepped up to bat for the second innings and scored 9 hard earn runs, Halswell came up and some great pitching from Sebastian, outstanding fielding from Jaxon and Zavier, and awesome work from Finn as catcher saw Halswell restricted to 2 runs. Every Falcons player played their part in the team winning 12 - 5, a great all round effect.

A massive thank you must go to Aaron Flynn who has been a huge help all season, running third base, advise and encouragement to the players,he has been a huge positive influence, thank you Aaron.

Player of the Day went to David, he had a great game with the bat and his vocal encouragement today was fantastic, well done David.

7th march - Albion Falcons v PCU
The boys played PCU today, and it was a cracker. We played PCU in the first game after the holidays and they gave us a softballing lesson, today we showed what we learnt from that lesson.
Our fielding was outstanding against some of the best batters in this grade, some great catch's, awesome delivery, (especially to base 1), quick movement in the out field to stop several home runs and an awesome double, (caught by the pitcher and then delivered to base 1).
For the first 3 innings we restricted PCU to,3, 3 and 1 but a blow out in the 4th gave PCU a total of 23.
The PCU pitchers were outstanding, fast and accurate, and their base 3 had an arm and half on him, his deliveries to base 1 were outstanding, flat, fast and straight into the glove. PCU were sharp all over the field and restricted our batters to a huge degree.

Player of the Day went to two players, Roan for a fantastic catch in the outfield, he covered a lot of ground and took the catch cleanly, awesome work Roan. And Jaxon, his work at short stop today was outstanding, several catch's, some awesome stopping and quick, clean delivery to base 1, he accounted for most of the outs today, great work Jaxon, well deserved.

21st Feb - Albion v RKS
This was always going to be a tough game, RKS are a good team with some outstanding players.
Batting first we we went three up and three down, great pitching from RKS and some sharp fielding stopped the Falcons from getting a start.
RKS then showed the Falcons how it is done, not sure how many runs they put on us but it was quiet a few.
We had a better run with the bat in the second, some great pitching and some awesome fielding combined to get RKS 3 up and 3 down, an awesome effect.
The third innings was not completed but again the Falcons did some good work with the bat.
Well done boys, a great game.

Player of the Day went again to two players, Joey for some awesome pitching, (remembering that he is also only 9 years old), and to David for some fantastic work as catcher and keeping the RKS runners on their toes, well done boys.

14th Feb - The Falcons played Riccarton this morning, a great game for the boys, we were ahead after the first innings but Riccarton had an awesome innings with the bat and took the game out.
The good thing was the boys made did everything right this morning, some awesome fielding, especially Jaydon T, Roan and David in the out field who stopped a number of homes runs with quick fielding and good delivery into the base's. Well done boys, a good solid display.

The Player of the Day went to two players, Frewen who pitch his heart out today, despite having some big hits he kept pitching and kept trying. Sebastian for good fielding an awesome one hand catch at 2nd base that was moving like a bullet, all the boys played well and anyone of them could have been player of the day, fantastic effect.
