THIS WEEKEND! Put it on the calendar and get on down to Waimairi Tennis Club to kick of another epic tennis season. As always, there'll be plenty of coaches, supporters and members heralding in the start of a new summer of tennis, with lots of demo tennis, games and people to help with registrations and to answer any questions.

🎾SAVE THE DATE • SAT 19th SEPT • OPEN DAY
Waimairi Tennis Club is hosting a 2026/2027 Club Open Day, and invites anyone interested in playing tennis this season to discover exactly why we are one of the largest and most successful clubs in Christchurch!

We are running a loose schedule throughout the day so we can accommodate all ages and stages of tennis, and provide tailored advice and support:

* 8:30am - 10:30am - Hotshots (5-9 yr old)
* 11am - 1pm - Junior Interclub Hitting (10+)
* 1:30pm Onwards - Adults

That said, we will have staff and coaches on site throughout the day to welcome anyone, at anytime, with any queries around Club offerings and membership options.

There will be on-court activities, racquets available, competitions and a running sausage sizzle & treats throughout the day.

In the meantime, registrations for existing members are now open and we encourage you to tell your friends and secure your registrations today!

REGISTER FOR JUNIOR INTERCLUB TODAY!
The final day to register your child/children to play in a Waimairi Tennis Club team is Saturday 12 September.

Regarding Interclub info, matches are played each week throughout the school term, on either:
* Friday evenings, from 4:30pm or
*Saturday mornings at either 8:30am (10U/12U) or 10:30am (14U/Open)
* Matches are played at various locations around the city.
* The Junior Interclub Competition officially starts Friday 16 October, 2026.

We will be hosting an Interclub Info Session at the Club in the week prior to Interclub starting, where we will hand out tennis balls, and chat through all the requirements of what is involved in playing Junior Interclub - stay tuned for the exact date!

Senior Doubles Club Championships 2026 – Open Now!

Entries are now open for our 2026 Senior Doubles Club Championships. The event will be run as last year but matches are best of three (full) sets with tie-breaker third set.

The timeline for the Doubles Club Championships is as follows:
🎾Entries are now open
🎾Entries Close 15 September
🎾Draw Will be Published Up 17 September
🎾Schedule Play - Players organise their matches feeding results back to the WhatsApp group
🎾FINALS - weather dependant. Either Fri evening 20 Nov and/or Sun afternoon 22 Nov.

Waimairi Tennis Club is excited to be offering Senior members a new uniform, including:

* Men's Club T-shirt - $50
* Women's Club T-shirt - $50
* Club Hoody - $75
* Club Cap - $25
* NEW Club Visor - $35

The T-shirts are being subsidised, and Senior Interclub players are encouraged to wear the new T-shirt for matches. They will be available a few weeks into the season.
