Did you know you can ride all the way to Burnside road from Waipukurau without going on the road? Enjoy the longer days and take you bike along the stop bank for a peaceful ride away from the traffic ✌🏼

HAWKES BAY FUNDRAISER - Thursday 9th March | 7pm MTG Hawke's Bay

The genesis of the Big Bike Film Night was out of adversity, and out of difficulty comes light.

This fundraiser, gesture, method, notion, call it what you want, is my way helping the Hawkes Bay cycling community rise again, and to help the Hawkes Bay Mountain Bike Club get the trails repaired.

It's a community that I have grown up around from pre-school to high-school and then through my working life, and it is a community that I greatly admire and respect.

Ticketing will be "alittle bit different" for this fundraiser. I have set the tickets at three levels for attendees to choose between - a "pay what you can" approach as you know your financial situation better than me, and what you can pay, especially if you have faced hardships from this disaster.

Let's make this one a good one!!!!

Update: due to park closure, this Tour ride will be postponed to a new date.

Save the date - Sat 24 Feb, time TBA (9am if locals only attending, or 10am if out of region visitors travelling to join us).
Pan Pac, Waipunga tour ride (near the start of Waipunga Rd, SH5). North of Napier.
For those of you wanting to explore our new tracks in the Waipunga block, but wanting someone to be your tour guide, then this is the ride for you.
At this stage we'll have 2 guides, one for grade 2&3 tracks, and a guide for grade 4&5s.
All welcome!! Weather dependant. Might meet up at the fruit ice cream place afterwards.
Must be current mtn bike club member which is currently $15pp - join on link below.
Special invite to the groups outside of the region who might want to join us.

Great to see our Gumtree park being acknowledged by overseas visitors!

Rachael Harvey, a visitor from Sydney, wrote to us with this message "Amazing bike park in Waipukurau and great trail to get there- all the way from Sydney and great to see a thriving cycle community. Shame the bridges are gone and hoping they can build new? From MTB fanatic… keep up the maintenance of the trails as a wonderful addition to the CHB region!"

Ranui Farm Park ride Saturday 2nd December from 9am.
$5pp - cash payable into the honesty box at Ranui Farm.
Note: the Downhill event will be running on this day but it will still work well with us there too.

Weather looks to be behaving - yikes have i just jinxed it 😬

9am arrival (or anytime from 9am).
Kick off with 'have a go at jumping' session on the purpose built beginner jumps (all the jumps will be open to us). Paul Needham will give us a few pointers before he heads off to compete in the downhill event. I encourage all ladies no matter what age or skill level to have a go. You'll be surprised how much fun you'll have!

Then we'll head out onto the trails (welcome to go straight onto the trails if not jumping). Tracks cater for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders.

At 12.30 they've said a small group of us confident grade 4 riders are allowed to have a ride down the downhill track before the race starts.

Nice toilets and fresh water available on site. Good parking. Bring your food and drink.
Stay as long as you wish.
Approx 15mins south of Waipuk
787 Nicholls Road, Waipukurau
All welcome including your family. $5pp.
