17E Ministock - Tate Carpenter

A couple of weeks ago we rounded out the eastern states speedway season with the club prizegiving.
The number and calibre of ministocks has grown a lot this season and there are a lot of deserving drivers so we had no expectations for the night apart from a good feed and a few drinks with our club mates.

So we were super stoked to take away Best presented youth ministock and Most improved driver overall for the club.
Pumped with both but extra proud of the best presented award as we put a lot of effort into the car and team presentation this season. Special thanks to Kev from High Rev for the design and application. Pretty sure that made it best presented awards for his designs in both Blenheim and Nelson Ministocks!

Also special congrats to Ava Carpenter 16E Mini Stock for the season points win proving consistency delivers and Keegan 22E Smith Brothers Racing for most improved ministock. That purple beast starter car seems to be a successful pathway 🤣🤣.

That's officially it for the season! Will post a season summary soon.

Epic finals day at Oxford Speedway last Sunday with some super fast, hard racing.

Race 1 - Grid 16 ➡️ 7th
Race 2 - Grid 4 ➡️ 3rd
Race 3 - Grid 17 ➡️ 3rd but relegated post-race.

This left us tied for second overall with 423C Jaxon Dacombe. Unfortunately it was too late and getting dark for a run-off so the boys had to toss a coin for it.
After that Tate secured 2NZ! "Tails never fails" he reckons 🤣🤣

Awesome weekends racing and great to get a result for our team.
Huge congrats to 59C Marcel Vlaanderen on the win, was the car to beat all weekend.
And also Jaxon on the 3NZ. Always great racing with you and would have been an epic run-off.

Day 1 in the books at Oxford Speedway and it was a good one!

Race 1 - Grid 11 ➡️ 2nd
Race 2 - Grid 4 ➡️ 3rd
Race 3 - Grid 7 ➡️ 1st 🏁

This put us top on points for yellow group and more importantly straight through to the finals field for today.
Going to be another level today but we are ready to give it everything.

Pumped to see Ava Carpenter 16E Mini Stock and 77E Bailey Jefcoate make it through to Rep the E and also a good crew of our N mates as well!

It been a big old season but it's still going for 17E!

Over Anzac weekend we raced two nights at eastern states speedway as a support class for the Modified Invasion.
Great meeting, it's always epic to see a full field of Modifieds going wheel to wheel. We even had a special job push starting one of them each race to get them out on track!
Some awesome racing once again from a great field of 28 ministocks meaning we were split into groups.

Night 1:
Race 1 - Grid 12 ➡️ 2nd
Race 2 - Grid 13 ➡️ 2nd
Race 3 - Grid 3 ➡️ 1st 🏁

Night 2:
Race 1 - Grid 5 ➡️ 2nd
Race 2 - Grid 9 ➡️ 1st 🏁
Race 3 - Grid 17 ➡️ 2nd

Great nights racing for our driver making his way up into the top 2 in each race.

Next meeting out is the two day Oxford Speedway NZ Youth Title, always a great meeting. Can't wait.

The weeks have flown by since Easter and i realised we had missed our race update!

Massive Easter weekend with three nights of racing in Blenheim and Nelson.

Night 1 - Blenheim Harvest Champs
Race 1 - Grid 12 ➡️ 3rd
Race 2 - Grid 20 ➡️ 4th
Race 3 - Grid 1 ➡️ DNF
Having a solid night moving forwards but then a bit of a fuel issue meant the car died before the green flag unfortunately as this was our front Grid.

Night 2 - Blenheim Easter Champs
Race 1 - Grid 4 ➡️ 1st 🏁
Race 2 - Grid 9 ➡️ 2nd
Race 3 - Grid 22 ➡️ 2nd
Great nights racing to take the overall points win for the ESS Easter Champs for the second year in a row!

Night 3 - Nelson Easter Champs
Race 1 - Grid 9 ➡️ 2nd
Race 2 - Grid 16 ➡️ 5th
Race 3 - Grid 5 ➡️ 3rd
Another top nights racing and managed to collect top points for this night also.

Nelson presented the overall Easter Champ based on points combined from all 3 nights racing.
Unfortunately our DNF on night one dented our chances but still managed to take second overall which we were super stoked with!
Congrats to Kade Taylor Racing and Scarlett Gray Motorsport on their overall podiums also. Great consistency was rewarded across the three nights.

That was Nelson Speedway Association Inc. final meeting for the season, thanks for making us so welcome to come and race this season. Special thanks to Sheree Harrington for your great work as the Nelson Rep, very much appreciated.

This weekend we close out the eastern states speedway race season with two nights racing supporting the Modified North vs South.
