Auckland Cup - Meet Recap

Brooke competed at the Powerlifting Auckland Cup on Sunday.
She achieved something pretty incredible; all-time competitions PBs for her squat, bench press, and deadlift, which equals an all-time PB total as well!

9/9 Attempts made:

122.5kg Squat (PB)
77.5kg Bench (PB)
160kg Deadlift (PB)
360kg Total (PB)

Her total of 360kg earned her 2nd Place in the -84kg Open class. This was Brooke’s third competition this year and such a great outcome for a very consistant & hard worker.

Brooke is also a mum of three young children and is studying to become a chartered accountant at Massey University.

This year, she was the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, including the Massey University & Maori Education Trust Manawaroa Scholarship, and the CA ANZ & NKMoA Suzanne Spenser Memorial Maori Scholarship.

One of our goals at Barbell & Beyond is to support athletes like Brooke to achieve their goals, not just in Powerlifting, but in their academic pursuits and in life. She was one of the first recipients of our Barbell and Beyond Student Athlete Scholarships.

A huge congratulations from all of us, Brooke.
You make everyone who knows you so proud!
