🏆 MBC Squash Success at the TSS Squash Championships 🏆

Our MBC Squash teams travelled to Nelson on Wednesday to compete in the TSS Squash Championships and enjoyed a highly successful day on the courts.

A huge thank you to Mr Ferguson and Ben Rush for giving up their time to travel with the teams and support the boys throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to all players on their outstanding results:

🏓 MBC Results at the TSS Table Tennis Championship 🏓

Three Marlborough Boys' College teams travelled to Nelson on Thursday to compete in the Tasman Secondary Schools Table Tennis Championships at the Saxton Stadium—and what a result!

Our MBC teams had such fantastic results, claiming Gold, Silver, and Bronze, marking the school's second championship title!

🥇 MBC 1 – Oliver Phipps, Harry Speakman, and Fletcher Phipps were outstanding, cruising through the tournament and losing only two singles matches between them. They recorded convincing wins over MBC 2 (11-0), MBC 3 (11-0), and Waimea College (9-2). Oliver was unbeaten in all nine of his singles matches, while Harry and Fletcher each lost only to one of Nelson's top players. The team remained undefeated in doubles play throughout the tournament.

🥈 MBC 2 – Finnbar Duncan, Levi van Kuyk, and Dean Tolentino secured second place with wins over MBC 3 (8-3) and Waimea College (6-5). Finnbar and Levi each claimed five singles victories, while Dean added two important wins.

🥉 MBC 3 – Luke Tucker, Oscar Duncan, and George Frampton battled hard to finish third, defeating Waimea College 6-5. All three players contributed strongly, each finishing with three singles wins.

It was a great day for MBC Golf today with our MBC 1st Team taking 1st place at the Tasman Secondary School tournament today and qualifying for the National Secondary Schools tournament later this year. Our MBC 2nd team also performed well today finishing the day 2nd equal with Garin College.
We also had a win in the Ambrose competition held at Picton Golf Club today so a successful day for our Falcons golfers 🦅

TSS Motocross Champs 2026

This year we had 7 of our MBC students head across the hill to compete in the TSS Motocross Championship in Dovedale.

Congratulations to 4 of our amazing riders who had a podium finish:

🥇 Chase O’Brien – 1st in his class! 15-19 years 125cc
🥉 Cruz Graham - 3rd in his class! 15-19 years 125cc
Sean Lange - 4th in his class 15-19 years 125cc
🥉 Kobie Madsen - 3rd in his class! 12-14 years 125cc

Also a huge effort and not far off the pace was Mitchell Spence, Noah Hagan & Hunter Hay in there respected classes. 👏🏻

A massive thank you to all the parents who went to the event with the boys & who helped make the day possible. 🦅

A big congratulations to Mr Raeli 🦅

A huge congratulations to our Deputy Principal & 1st XV Coach Laufiso Tui Raeli on his appointment as an Assistant Coach of the NZ Schools for 2026

Tui has a proud playing history and has coaching experience at NPC level for the Northland Taniwha. Tui has coached our 1st XV the last four years at Marlborough Boys’ College doing a fantastic job with the regions best rangatahi.
This is great reward for a hardworking humble man who has always put his hand up to help our MBCRC programme.

We are all proud of you Tui 🦅🦅
