Celebrating Filipino Language Week for the 2nd time in Marlborough. What an incredible celebration of culture, unity, and community spirit!

Buwan ng Wika 2026 brought Filipinos and friends from many nations together once again — proving that language and culture can truly unite people.

This year’s event was filled with color, joy, and shared pride as everyone enjoyed learning the Filipino language, exploring our traditions, and celebrating the richness of Filipino heritage. ✨

Event Highlights:
🍽️ Food Bazaar — 7 Amazing Booths! Our food bazaar was a feast of flavors, showcasing Filipino favorites and Asian fusion dishes.
Seven vibrant booths served everything from classic street food to homemade delicacies — giving everyone a taste of home and a taste of Filipino hospitality.

🎨 Creative arts & crafts booths

🎤 Fun and lively karaoke booth

🎮 Nostalgic traditional Filipino games enjoyed by kids and adults.

🎶 The first-ever Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Blenheim 2026 featuring 5 talented contestants who lit up the stage.

👗 A breathtaking Filipino Fashion Show showcasing traditional costumes, cultural elegance, and pride.

📚 Activities that helped both Filipinos and non-Filipinos learn and appreciate the beauty of the Filipino language This celebration was more than an event — it was a gathering of cultures, a bridge between communities, and a joyful reminder that Marlborough is a place where diversity thrives.

💛 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, cooked, and supported the program.

💛 Special appreciation to the Marlborough Multicultural Board members for their presence and support.

💛 And congratulations to the Marlborough Filipino Cultural Society for successfully organizing this meaningful celebration for the second year in a row.

We are proud and honored to share that the Marlborough Filipino Cultural Society (MFCS) Committee has been nominated for the Volunteers Award – Marvelous Migrants Category in the Marlborough Community and Volunteers of the Year Awards 2026.

This nomination is a testament to the dedication, passion, and countless volunteer hours contributed by our committee members in serving the Filipino community and the wider Marlborough region.
