Aesthetics should never be the goal…👇🏼

Your body will forever change its appearance. It’s an inescapable fact of aging.

That’s one of the many reasons why having an aesthetic goal is futile - the bar will never stop moving.

Focusing on your HEALTH is not only more achievable, but future proofs your capabilities, independence and confidence.

The primary goal should never be about looks.

✨ 90 SECOND MEAL PREP ✨

Come with me as I prepare 10 days worth of breakfast burritos and honey rice crispy treats 🤤

While this did take me about 4 hours, it always feels good once it’s done! It’s a game changer as having grab-and-go or heat-and-eat meals like this makes staying on track easy 👏🏻

Overall, this comes to about $0.50 per Rice Bubble bar and $7.40 per burrito, which could absolutely be made cheaper by shopping specials and store deals 💸

Confession time 🤫

I haven’t properly trained in almost 2 months…

And honestly…I feel awful…🥴

Not because I’ve lost years of progress, but more so because I’ve lost confidence in what my body can do.

But it has reminded me that strength isn’t just about looking good.

It’s about having a body that makes moving feel effortless, pain free and less scary ✨

All because I choose strength over scales, daily 💪🏻

✨ LETS TALK BODYWEIGHT TRAINING ✨

It’s easy to get caught up chasing heavier weights, but considering most of our daily activities don’t involve dumbbells or barbells, bodyweight training is seriously underrated 💪🏼

TLDW 👇🏼
✔️ Build relative strength
✔️ Challenge your stabiliser muscles
✔️ Improve coordination and body awareness
✔️ Expose weaknesses in balance, mobility and core control
✔️ Carry over into everyday life
✔️ Extremely scaleable and accessible

And before any of you brush this off because it’s too easy…go on, do one pull up…👀

So no, bodyweight training isn’t a step backwards.

It’s the stuff that helps you use the strength you’ve built in the gym more effectively 🙌🏻

Warm up for a PB with me 💪🏻

TLDR version 👇🏼
- Dynamic stretching is key to help with blood flow and range of motion 🧘🏻‍♀️
- Weighted warmups should be low volume - stay warm, not fatigued, so increase weight and reduce the reps until you reach your goal weight 🏆
- You can calculate the weight of your warmup reps based off a percentage of your top set 🧮
