Spring has sprung! 🌱

Which around here means one thing: bike season is back.

Across Tāmaki Makaurau, our 9 community Bike Hubs are open Thursday to Sunday (10am to 2pm) with free tools, friendly advice, and a hand fixing up whatever's been sitting in the shed all winter.

Since we started, more than 100,000 people have come through our hubs. And we'd love to see more of you soon! 👋

Meet our volunteer Hugo! 🚲

Hugo is in Year 10 at Glendowie College and is completing his Duke of Edinburgh Award, which includes 26 hours of volunteering.

As a keen mountain biker who’s been working on his own bikes for the past couple of years, the Bike Hub was a natural choice for his volunteering. He’s been getting stuck in, learning new skills and putting his bike knowledge to good use.

Great to have you on board, Hugo! 🙌

Great to see the Glen Innes Station underpass has had a major refresh, with improvements including upgraded lighting, drainage, fencing, CCTV and new asphalt throughout.

The CCTV is monitored 24/7, helping create a safer and more welcoming space for everyone using this important connection between Felton Mathew Avenue, Apirana Avenue and the station. 🙌

Looking for a fun school holiday activity? 🚲✨

Give your bike a colourful makeover with these easy DIY handlebar streamers! All you need is some ribbon, a hair tie and a few minutes to create your own. It's a simple craft that's perfect for little hands.

Remember to keep your streamers short enough that they can't get caught in the wheel.

Save this tutorial so you've got it ready for your next craft day!
