Chiefs Top 4 Semi-Final — Full of Pride

Today didn’t go our way.

The boys gave everything they had in the Chiefs Top 4 Semi-Final against Hamilton Boys’ High School. We were beaten by the better team today, but there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

Be proud of your season, boys. The commitment, confidence, courage and belief you have shown throughout the year has been outstanding.

To our players, coaches, management, families, supporters, sponsors and everyone who has stood behind this First XV — thank you. Your support has meant everything.

We leave this season with our heads held high: gracious in defeat, humble in victory, and hungry for what comes next.

The future is bright. The work continues. The fire stays lit.

A strong performance from the girls today as we secured a 34–10 victory over Paeroa College in Round 2 of the PU Cup.

Our Brougham Buses Wesley College First XV travel to Taupō this weekend to take on Lindisfarne College in the Central North Island 3rd/4th Playoff.

While it may be the final CNI fixture of 2026, our focus remains firmly on continuing to improve, building momentum, and sharpening our game ahead of Chiefs Top 4 Semi-Final. Every minute matters. Every performance counts.

Safe travels to our players, staff, and supporters making the trip. We appreciate your continued support wherever we play.

Unfortunately, today's result wasn't the one we came for, but it will never define this group.

Our boys represented Wesley College with courage, commitment, and pride, leaving everything on the field in a hard-fought CNI Semi-Final. While our journey toward the title ends here, we couldn't be prouder of the effort, resilience, and character shown throughout the season.

To our players, coaches, families, supporters, and the wider Wesley community—thank you for standing with us every step of the way.

Congratulations to St Paul's Collegiate on the victory. We wish you all the very best in next week's CNI Final.

Our focus now shifts to one final challenge as we travel to Taupō next week to contest the 2026 CNI 3rd/4th Playoff. We look forward to finishing our campaign the right way and representing Wesley College with the same pride and passion that has defined our season.

FULL TIME | BROUGHAM BUSES WESLEY COLLEGE FIRST XV

Wesley College 24 – 19 St Paul's Collegiate

A massive performance from the boys as we hand the previously unbeaten St Paul's Collegiate their first defeat of the season.

It was a match worthy of the occasion, with both teams producing an outstanding spectacle of schoolboy rugby. The effort, resilience and belief shown by our players reflected what it means to wear the Wesley jersey.

The job isn't finished.

We meet St Paul's again next week in the Semi Final, this time on their home ground. We'll embrace the challenge and prepare for another huge battle.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us today. Your energy lifted the team.
