The warm-up before a bout is one of the most important parts of a boxer’s preparation. It’s the final piece of the process before stepping through those ropes. Physically, it’s about getting the body warm, getting a sweat up, running through specific drills and preparing the body for battle. But mentally, it’s even bigger. This is where you start to switch on. Where you dial in, block out the noise, manage the nerves and prepare yourself to perform under pressure. Sometimes it’s the difference between winning and losing. Every boxer is different. Every coach is different. And finding what works best for each athlete is a constant learning process. The warm-up isn’t just preparation for the fight. It’s preparation to perform. 🥊
