Race day problems!!

After breaking our vang attachment in the RNI and some help in Waikawa to make the rest of the race we’ve uplevelled the vang attachment with the help of Gulf Harbour Marine. It’s a great job. Really happy, thanks Rob and Josh!

We love our furler!! Thanks Sailutions 🙏❤️⛵️

No wind. No racing or sailing today. Instead just parenting logistics and an unexpected Ken style adventure up One Tree Hill with the boys while the tiny dancer did her thing.

A surprisingly civilised Saturday by our standards. 🤪⛵️☺️

Red ones go faster!!
Couldn’t live with the black clear coat peeling off so a “quick” sand and a couple of coats of single pot Altex will do till we sort out the dual wheel plans!

Shout out and ask for your support from us to help Jono Ridler and Live Ocean stop bottom trawling by 2027.

We need signatures and there must be many more people who can a help!!!

If you haven’t heard about Jono Ridler and what he is doing to raise awareness and support, look him up. He’s spent the last 90 days swimming the length of the North Island, and it’s seriously impressive.

Starting from Cape Reinga, where we sailed around in Leg 2 of our race, he’s due to finish in Wellington today around lunchtime.

We were in Napier during Leg 3/4 and saw him and his crew in action, even from the sidelines, it was enough to feel the scale of what he has taken on.

This is a massive human effort for something that really matters. Our oceans need protecting, and ocean bottom trawling is causing real damage.

Take a minute to sign the petition to stop ocean bottom trawling here
