My Street NZ Neighbours

My Street NZ Neighbours We're about connecting neighbours for the Good of the Hood. Through this we also aim to help improve civic engagement.

The 'My Street' programme is a community-led initiative that provides leadership-development, training and mentoring support to residents who are interested in learning how to plan, organise and host activities in their own streets in order to build communities that are safe, strong, caring & connected. If neighbourhoods are at the heart of communities, then families are at the heart of our neighb

ourhoods. The benefits of strong and healthy families feed outwards into the neighbourhood and the community, and the neighbourhood and community, in turn, feed back into the strength of the family. If you would like join our crew and become a Street leader then get in touch! A huge thank you to The Otara-Papatoetoe local for supporting us to make this happen.

💙 MEN’S HEALTH HĪKOI 💙

June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

Last year we teamed up with Dream Team Boys Club and hit the road for a hīkoi to raise awareness for our young men. This year we’re going bigger, with more boys’ clubs and brothers getting involved.

Too many of our Māori and Pacific brothers are battling in silence. This hīkoi is about standing together, checking in on each other, and showing our brothers they don’t have to carry it all alone.

So round up your mates, your sons, your brothers, your uncles, and your street. Come walk with us, have a yarn, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the brothers from around the hood.

Remember, You are loved ❤️

Let’s get amongst it and make this one big for our brothers🙏🏾💯

We are looking forward to rolling this out this thursday in partnership with ONAC: Ōtara Network Action Committee and Auckland Emergency Management.

For those who have not thought about getting yourself and your whanau prepared for emergencies please feel free to head on through to the ONAC link to see the whanau grab and go bags put together and how you can put one together for your own whanau on a budget. These are designed to be light weight so that both adults and children can carry it and have all the basic necessities you need should we loose full power and water.
