Was lucky enough to get out recently on what was one of the most spectacular mornings I’ve ever had on the water.
Big call!
The first photo is of the stars in the sky. Never as good as being there, but that’s how clear and beautiful it was, I had to take a photo.
Next, while paddling out, I was treated to bioluminescence. That glowing blue light coming off the bow of the kayak and in every splash of the paddle was amazing and lasted for about 20mins! If you’ve never seen it before or don’t know what it is, Google it, it’s amazing.
I honestly took a few minutes to just sit, on the kayak, on the water, in the dark and just take it in. It was just so nice and calm.
The first living thing to come onboard was a squid, my first landed squid.
It inked everywhere but was so cool to see and was a pretty good size!
Salt n pepper squid was on the menu for entrees.
Then a bunch of pretty small (but still legal) pannies, which became crumbed snapper for the main meal.
Definitely one for the books this session was.
