Meet Manju Sunuwar from Sindhuli, Nepal’s new female Backyard Ultra record holder! 🏔️🇳🇵

In a Backyard Ultra, you have exactly 60 minutes to finish each 6.7 km loop. If you're even a second late, that loop doesn't count. Manju ran all 15 hours, pushing through fatigue and fear in her first-ever ultra race, securing the national record with 14 official loops (93.8 km).

Meet the extraordinary “Arjun Kulung Rai” Arjun Kulung Rai Runner Xtep athlete. During Backyard ULTRA 3.0 he broke his PR of 21 loops, broke the national record of 25 loops, became THE LAST ONE STANDING at 31 loops and went on to make the Backyard ULTRA Nepal event record of 33 LOOPS. This is the National record now. Anyone who dares to challenge him, will need to come with sheer determination, stamina and endurance, second to none.
We at Backyard ULTRA Nepal family are extremely proud of his achievement and wish him best of LUCK for upcoming Backyard ULTRA World Championship happening in Pokhara on October 17th, 2026. 72 countries will do head to head battle from their respective countries, and within Team Nepal whoever comes on the Top “THE LAST ONE STANDING” will receive the GRAND opportunity to take part in Individual Big’s Backyard Ultra World Championship, happening on OCT 17, 2027 in Tennessee, USA.

Backyard ULTRA Nepal 3.0 was full of records. Meet “MANJU SUNUWAR” Manju Sunuwar the new record holder for Nepali Female Backyard ULTRA runner.
She completed 14 LOOPS ( that’s over over 93km and 2300m elevation gain). She will be part of Team Nepal and will run along side 14 other runners, representing Nepal in the world stage, where 72 countries will take part from their respective countries. 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️🇳🇵
At only Age 23, she has set the standards high up for other fitness female enthusiast in NEPAL. We at Backyard ULTRA Nepal are very proud of you and congratulate you for your achievement!!
