We have finally cracked the code and found chanterelles in the mountains!

The secret? Walk slow, and then a little slower than that. ☺️

We tried them with tagliatelle and fresh fish from the fjord: delicious!

While we were finding chanterelles in the mountains, Dau was picking cloudberries back home. Blueberries everywhere too, and the first yellows already appearing in the landscape.

A wonderful time of year to come home hungry!

Now filling the freezer, and looking forward to serving a little bit of August to our guests this winter.

Two weeks.

Long enough to stop checking the time.

Long enough to know every dog in your team by name.

Long enough for the rhythm of the mountains to become your own.

Fifteen days travelling by dogsled through the Arctic wilderness.

No roads.
No mobile coverage.
No hotels.

Just your own team of huskies, frozen lakes, remote mountain cabins, a few nights in expedition tents, and a life that becomes wonderfully simple.

Every participant drives their own dog team and learns to harness, feed and care for the dogs throughout the journey. Days are spent travelling through silent valleys and mountain plateaus. Evenings are spent around the wood stove, looking at the map for the next day over a cup of tea.

For 2027, our preferred plan is to return to the Sarek and Padjelanta National Parks in Sweden. If conditions do not allow it, we’ll head for another remote mountain area in Arctic Scandinavia instead.

The route may change. The spirit stays the same.

Espen & Delphine will be guiding the expedition.

Two experienced returning guests have already signed up.

We are looking for a few more people to join us.
