A very on point quote for these distant times. For me every day is an adventure, I don’t know what will be the result, or what I’ll do. The day guides me in the right direction. I kind of like it that way, that’s one of the reasons I was planning this trip anyway. Times change however, so plans (as flexible as they are) change along. To a new future, a new direction.

This week we went on a hike in Rockanje. Which is a small beach town. We figured it was going to be 18km through dunes and beach. But boy were we wrong! I think it is one of the prettier hikes I’ve done here in Holland...

Only for today, be mindful of your breath.

I’ve been using app for over two years now. At times reluctantly and at others more avidly. Currently i’ve been active for over 100 days in a row. For me it helps in such a nice way to quiet a busy mind.

-
One of the meditations on there i keep coming back to (deliberate or serendipitously) is one by Tom Evans. Where he invites you to be mindful and perform random acts of kindness, only for today. Which is a great way of breaking down the big challenge of being mindful to something I can do, today. So as I sit here smiling: have a great day today!

Tracks in the sand. Yesterday i took the greenmachine out for it’s first real spin. Have been dialing in the cockpit and everything seesms to work the way i want it now. Still have to cut the fork tube to length, and since it’s at the right height that is the next task on the list!

Added a flared drop-bar and a shorter 4-axis stem (90mm). But now my OCD is acting up and i also want a ritchey seatpost 🙈. But that ‘ll come.

Shoot the shooter. Some more about yesterdays outing in the “wild”. We kept our socialdistancing skills on point, dodging, evading and taking alternate routes to find as much solitude as we could.

Had a lovely ride yesterday. As far as the weather’s concerned that is. Rode through the dunes, but man what a crowd. So much for or Luckily, riding into the city there were far less people and the sun was still out.

I found this very fitting David Mitchell quote today. It seems everyone is daydreaming about better, freer, times. Planning summer holidays, big trips or great adventures. But what can you do to slip your daydreams into reality. Smuggle them in!

Apart from trying to make the most of now i’m starting to become very skeptical about my planned trip. By the rate things are developing I wouldn’t be surprised if this means staying home for summer. Which means september will be the next option. In the meantime
