One more day to go

Rondje ploggen met Joost van Kovi Koffiebranders, Erik de godfather van Plogging World uit Zweden en Joris van Runx Haarlem in Westerpark Amsterdam, met Hempont over naar RunX Zaandam hardloopwinkel, via Pont Buitenhuizen naar Haarlem met finish bij Dopper. I thought it would be fun to record my training run today and show how I combine it with plogging
The run was Z1 45min, Z2 30min and then Z3 15min
I plog during the Z1 (super easy) pace and then afterwards focus on the run.
Normally I get a bit more plogged but the recent rain obviously kept the litterbugs away

30km training run. First 12km was plogging where I plogged 12 (yes twelve!) bags of litter
I pick up at least one piece of litter on every run. It is surprisingly easy to do.. during your warm up or cool down.
Today was extreme even for me but I wanted to show that it is easy to do even when training for a marathon.
But give yourself limits. If you say "ok, done my bit, now run" then stick to it. Don't get upset if you ignore some litter later (maybe you will pick it up instead tomorrow). You have done your target, be pleased with that.
If everyone does the same then we can move mountains (of litter) together 💪
The rest of the run was great (around 5min/km).. on track for Eindhoven marathon!

And finally.. .. please get me on the show for the new season to talk about plogging. I really want to help make a positive impact on this wonderful country I am now officially a part of.

It is all too easy to think you are living in a picturesque and clean area.. but look around on the ground. Look hard.
On today's easy 1 hour plog, I picked up 6 bags of litter. .
Forget the issue of single use plastic or other packaging.. this is litter on the ground that we, as a society, have dropped. .
Putting things in a bin takes no funding or new laws, it is just a tiny bit of effort and a moral compass.
A photo that is going around at the moment highlights the issue. Google "mother bird feeding her chick a cigarette"
Let's help change society. Pick up a piece of rubbish on the ground today and share it on social media.
