A few times a year we organise something where we don’t touch the bike. Yesterday was one of those days.

A bus fully packed with CX lovers heading to Belgium for the Cyclocross World Cup race in Zonhoven. An intense women’s race, with Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado taking a well-deserved win. No surprises in the men’s race, where Mathieu van der Poel 👑 delivered yet another masterclass.

Snow, sun, beer, fries, cyclocross and most of all: Maats community 🫶

The new year has begun. Time to set the tone.

Once again, Maats and brand ambassador are hosting a long day in the saddle for the annual January Resolution Challenge (1 month, 1000 km) by — and we’re doing it exactly how we left 2025.

Starting from Maats Rotterdam, we’ll ride a demanding 210 km winter loop to Middelburg and back, straight through the heart of Zeeland. Expect cold temperatures, long empty roads, stubborn winds and that raw January feeling that makes this challenge what it is.

This is not about comfort. It’s about commitment, shared effort and starting the year on the right foot.

Yesterday marked the final edition of the Maats Gravel Series 2025. After gravel rides in Zwolle and Arnhem, our Maats Members headed south to Maastricht for some epic winter trails.

Picture us rollin' through the Limburg hills, packed with punchy climbs and slippery trails. Challenging conditions made for an absolutely epic edition.

Around 25-ish people, multiple groups. Broken spokes and broken dreams. Crashes and slides. Tears of pain and tears of laughter. More standing still that riding.
Six hours for 75 km 🤣🤣 — but we loved every second loved it.

Big thanks to our friend at for having us and for the perfect route. We’ll be back next year!

The Festive 500 is a year-end cycling challenge to ride 500 kilometers between December 24 and 31. It’s a global tradition that inspires riders to swap holiday comfort for winter miles—and finish the year with a story worth telling.

Maats is happy to announce that we’re hosting this year’s Festive 500 challenge, offering you one huge ride to boost your progress to complete the challenge. 

Mark your calendars for 28 December! We’re ending 2025 in style and literally blasting into 2026 with a 250 km ride!*
1 big route, 4 big stops along the way to rest and refuel (or head your way home).

Thanks to you, 2025 was a beautiful year for Maats. This is our way to show our appreciation for our community, celebrating 2025 the right way: by riding outside while enjoying an ‘oliebol’ and an ‘appelflap’ at one of the stops.

*Don’t want to do ride the full 250 km? It is optional to do less. Just join the final ride of the year, and decide yourself how far you want to go.
