Charlinton Hotels/2nd PFAN Tournament: Agbarho Allstars Force Ighogbadu To A Draw As X-Players Pip Allstars International.

By Ogo Clarkson

X-Players International showed their readiness to defend the title of the second edition of the Professional Footballers Association six Nations tournament powered by Charlinton Hotels with Ehis Aikhame's 21st-minute strike separating both sides in a well-contested game after their last meeting in the first edition finals.

The X-Players, who paraded dozens of retired international and great players in the Nigeria league, were captained by Edema Fuludu, with David Ogaga, Roland Okwudili, Emma Ugbeta, Modeley Gregory, and Ben Akpobasa.

Meanwhile, at the Ighogbadu Primary school field, Agbarho Allstars forced their host Ighogbadu Ex-Players to a goalless draw. The captain of the Ighogbadu side, Pascal attributed the home draw to the failure of eight of his key players to pass the compulsory blood pressure medical test for the 50 years and above tournament.

Initiator of the tournament, who doubles as President of Allstars International, NNPC, Dr. Brown Ogbeifun, commended the players for their patience in adhering to the rules.

"The 2026 second edition of PFAN above 50 tournament in Delta State has brought into focus the prevalence of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, among ex-players. To that effect, I am glad to have been one of the organizers of the tournament to bring this to focus so that players can seek early treatment and live longer. Once detected, high blood pressure is better dealt with very early to prevent deadly complications as we age.

Below is some information on high blood pressure:

_What is high blood pressure?_
High blood pressure (hypertension) is a chronic condition where blood force against artery walls is consistently too high (130/80 mmHg), often causing no symptoms until serious damage occurs. Known as a "silent killer," it increases risks of heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. Treatment involves lifestyle changes and medication (Mayo Clinic)

_Key Aspects of High Blood Pressure_
_Symptoms:_ Generally none. Severe cases may cause headaches, shortness of breath, or dizziness, but only once the condition is advanced.
_Stages:_ Normal:

Saturday August 16th, 2025 saw the Delta State All Stars Int'l FC welcome All Stars Football Club Ukwuani, Obiaruku to their home turf at the NNPC Housing Complex pitch in a mouth watering game that ended 4-4 on the day with both teams having to settle for a draw.

In a goal fest that saw an improbable comeback from the home team, it was the away team that took the lead early in the first half despite a good start from the home team.

The away team then took over the game, adding a second and a third to end the half with a 3 goal lead. The second half saw the home team come back to life after numerous subs and they quickly got themselves a scrappy goal to pull one back but the away team quickly regained their 3 goal lead.

From here on it looked done and dusted but it was all the home team from this point on as they got a second goal and a third from a brilliant free kick, with the away team now playing to keep their lead but it was the home team who ended the day on a high note with a late 4th goal to draw level and complete the comeback.

A brilliant game, well contested and both teams deservedly taking something out of the game. Two highlights at the end of the game was when both teams came together in a hurdle which showed sportsmanship and togetherness and also, the away team celebrating the recent birthday of the Delta All Star Int'l president, PFAN caretaker Chairman and center referee of the day, Dr. Louis Brown Ogbeifun.
