In April 2024, during a scouting program in Kaduna State, young Nigerian talent Zadok Yohanna of Ikon Allah Football Academy got an opportunity that would begin to shape his future. A scout from Sweden ๐ธ๐ช traveled all the way to Nigeria searching for the next generation of stars and was impressed by Zadok's qualities, recommending him to a FIFA-licensed agent.
However, the journey was far from easy.
Later that same year, in September 2024, a chief scout was sent to Abuja to watch Zadok during another scouting program. After assessing him, the verdict was disappointing: "He's not good enough. He's not ready yet."
Zadok was dropped.
Many players would have given up at that moment. Many would have allowed rejection to destroy their confidence. But Zadok chose a different path. He continued to work hard, remained focused, trusted the process, and never stopped believing in his dream.
In 2025, another scout and agent discovered his potential. This time, the opportunity became reality as he signed his first professional contract with AIK Fotboll of Sweden ๐ธ๐ช.

On June 6, 2026, at just 18 years old, Zadok Yohanna completed a move to Brighton & Hove Albion ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ, becoming one of the most exciting young Nigerian talents to reach the English Premier League.
His story is a powerful reminder that rejection is not the end. Sometimes, the people who overlook you are simply not the people meant to open your door. If one door closes, another will surely open.
