Back in 1994, Benfica decided to sell Rui Costa because the club were in desperate need of money at that time.

Rui Costa promised the fans and the president that he would return one day to his beloved club...

At that time, he was on the verge of moving to Barcelona. However, at the last moment, he signed with Fiorentina, which had offered more money.

He dazzled in the Serie A, and those who followed football back then know how many assists he provided to Gabriel Batistuta and the incredible duo they formed together.

That was until 2001, when he moved to AC Milan, where he became the team's maestro, winning Serie A and the Champions League with them.
